Memorex ships HD DVD-R media

Consumers are beginning to have a wider range of choices when it comes to HD DVD burners and recorders, slowly but surely. Memorex has taken this as an opportunity to ship HD DVD-R media. Each individual 15GB single-layer disc that is capable of holding up to 75 minutes of HD video will set you back by $20. Of course, hard drive real estate is still much cheaper as it costs roughly 25 cents per GB on a SATA drive while each single-layer HD DVD disc is priced at $1.33/GB, and we haven't even taken in transfer speeds into comparison. Of course both technologies are fundamentally different and worlds apart, but it is nice to work out some math once in a while.
