Bob; sorry you don't like the voice. I love it. Sounds like my girlfriend of 30 years, very soft, very patient, even if I ignore her instructions. I noticed that if you switch over to French, it's a completely different voice.

Mine worked fine for awhile with a few glitches, now it's froze solid it won't do anything. The manufacturer gave me a return authorization number to send it back to them however they said that it'll be 3 to 6 weeks before I'd hear anything from them. HEY NEXTAR!!! Let us try out your unit for 3 to 6 weeks and then we'll decide on whether we should pay you or not. YOUR GPS SYSTEMS ARE GARBAGE!! Let's move forward with a class action lawsuit.

I bought my 2707 June 2006, within a year my problems started. Oversized error message, MP player stopped working, then the GPS would not come on just the error message. Although my communications with Nextar was within the 12 months warranty, it was 2 months after it had expired that they sarted stalling me. Later they told me to call back in March of 2008 so they could arrange a replacement with a newer X3 Elite
if I sent $139.00 with my old unit. I see by the form they have put on their website that by agreeing to the replacement program I reliquish all claims against them for any claim I may have against them. I think they have a lot to answer for knowing they had problems with the 2707 model!!! lgto

I returned merchandise that was ordered. I included the correct merchandise to be re-rodered with the card to which is was to be charged. I mailed it back on 01-11-08 and it was received 01-16-08. Has the merchandise been mailed, or when can I expect delivers.

i have a nextar x3T and i hate it. highways are off, or don't exist. called the company and they said there was nothing they could do. the dumb thing keeps telling me to make a u-turn. it never takes me on the route i want. we tried it here locally first so we knew where we were going and it was way off. tired every setting and still took bad routes. might take you way out of the way. so i am wondering when we drive out of state how in the world we could ever trust it. hate this thing.

I'm all for a class action lawsuit, they sell defective equipment and then they want you to pay to ship it back to them for repairs while under warranty. It appears that they are well aware of all the problems, a "decent' company would voluntarily recall the item and either replace or repair all the "gltches" at their own expense. STEER CLEAR OF NEXTAR!!! Let's take a vote, Who would like to start up a "Class Action" lawsuit?

Good-luck, I'm on my second unit and they both having "Freeze-up" issues, I returned the first one for a replacement and got the same problem. I spoke with a "Service Technician" at Nextar and he acted surprised that two units in a row would freeze up. Since you have the same problem it sounds to me like it's an issue with Nextar. I will never buy another Nextar product, there has got to be better products on the market. Anyhow hear is the telephone number for Nextar: 888-849-0846.

My MN2707 locked up after 14 months. They gave me a brand new one. It worked once then froze on second use.
The service center (After 6 phone calls) finally informed me I am out of luck.
Too bad, so sad. I will NEVER purchase another Nextar product.

From my experience, if you do not use it for a few days, it will take a longer time to acquire the signal......especially on a cloudy day. Try this. Plug it in, turn it on, tap the lower right corner, then, use all your patience, and, wait. It will acquire the signal eventually. Try to use the unit regularly as in more often.

Me too! I have to tap the bottom right hand corner to boot it up each time but the map locks up at a place I was when it died and does not acquire the satellite signal. I think it is due for the garbage can.

Backup camera worked OK when first installed, but not 10 min. later. Could I have done damage by starting car with DC input attached? Also, there appears to be an on/off pwr. switch on the back of thge unit as well as on the right hand upper edge? Why is this so? Also, I do not find an SD card.
Should one have come with the unit?

yes there is a lot of querks with this unit tapping the screen will get the screen back I am happy with this gps I would never go to the smaller screen. There is better units out there but you will pay the price I looked at many of them now when my nextar locked up I am willing to deal with the problems untill it wont work at all for they all have problems

My GPS2707 froze on me.I fund your website and did what you said,touch the lower right corner of the screen, it does work properly in the house with no satelite signal but went i shut it down and re-start it, it's froze again. And i did download the " 07 15 2007 Firmware. Upgrade.zip" still do the same thing. And if i go out-side to get the satelite signal, it's froze and nothing work. Please help. Thank You

My gps2707 froze, and i tried all afternoon to get thru to service, but to no avail. I then went on line and #3 solved the problem. I only had to touch the lower right corner and all returned to normal.

Like no 3, my gps 2707 froze and i tried for an afternoon to get thru to service with no luck. i finally went on line and followed no 3's advice and touched the bottom right hand corner and it did the trick. i wish i had gone on line first, i would have saved a lot of time.

Well Folks, llok like we have been had by Crappy tire. The MN 2707 although has a great screen size, lacks map quality, upload, useless 30 GB hard drive, shitty MP3 player, and finally locks up on you after a few months.

Like #3 -my MN2707 was "frozen" with the message "It is important that digital map and PC". The words were cut off at this point. Today I called Support and received an immediate answer to my call...no waiting at all!
Just tap lightly with your finger on the bottom right hand corner of the screen. This is where the touch screen button to correct this problem is supposed to be, but the message is misformatted on the screen.
It worked for me,too!!

Two days ago I posted that my MN2707 was "frozen" with the message "It is important that digital map and PO". The words were cut off at this point. Today I called Support and received an immediate answer to my call...no waiting at all!

I have a MN2707 and was rather pleased with it as a GPS unit. I never did try the MP3 function. One month after the warranty expired, it "froze" with the words "It is important that digital etc." Now it does not work at all and I have not received a reply from Nextar as promised. How many of us are in the same boat now?

well beleave it or not I un-froze my MN2707.I downloaded the upgrade again and I retryed and this time the upgrade worked, my unit is now functioning like it was before, it still has trouble finding some adresses but apart from that it is now functional!! But,no help from customer service though,they were no help at all. I found the answer myself by trial and error..

How do you set the correct time?
Why is the screen so dim?
Why is the position arrow so small and dim?
Why is the printing of the road names so small when the screen is so big?
My HP iPAQ Bluetooth with separate GPS receiver and small screen is SO MUCH BETTER AND BRIGHTER. The HP GPS receiver can be switched on before you start the car and all is ready to go!

I bout the nextar yesterday and I am returning it tomorrow.The instruction manual does not explain things properly and there was no stylus in the pack plus I have had the unit on charge for ten hours and still cannot program it properly. The sound does not work regardless of what I do, the menu screen does not show options....etc etc.....what a waste of money. I am dispaointed.

I bought my first unit from cdn tire while home for xmas,it worked great in Canada.Tried to load the usa maps I had purchased at CTC when I got back to the states,found the unit defective.I called the help line,which I found the most frustrating feature of the unit,they were no help.So being in Calf.I drove right up to the factory.They replaced the unit with the new version.The unit continued to work well in the USA,BUT,once I got back to Canada I found the Cdn. maps were not up to date.Does anyone know if there are upgradeed cdn maps,and where can they be purchased.I,ve tried to download music ,but gave up.There are times when I love it and times when I,d like to beat it with a stick.

Have a nextar Q3-used it several times for places I've never been. It took me to the front door. Great. Once in a while the screen goes blank--why? I must turn the system off with main switch on the back. Then it seems to wipe out all programs. I then must reprogram. otherwise it's great,love it. Dose anyone have an answer to my problem? I bought my unit last year in june 2006 I used my
MN 2707 aboutl three times, once last summer, last fall, and this spring, about a week each time, every time I tried to find an adress I receved a message address could not be found, most of the time, except for some rare exceptions, I downloaded their website upgrade, and put it in a usb key like asked to do, but when I powered up the gps I did not get the dialog box firmware update yes or no, so I thought that the "thing" was not working well so I started over again, now NOTHING WORKS ANYMORE, the screen is frozen and nothing works it is not functional anymore,since I tried to upgrade the darned thing and the responce that I get from the customer service is that they will repair it if it is still under warranty, unfortunately the warranty period ran out on the first of June 2007, now I am still waiting for an answer of my last letter sent yesterday June 11,2007, probably will not be in my favor, I'll know better the next time I see the Make "NEXTAR", which will mean to me don.t buy!!!!! Thank you for reading me it makes me feel better about the money I lost with contraption!!!!!

I have the MN2707 and have used it on a trip from Vancouver Island to Saskatoon Sask. I programmed it to stop at street locations in 10 different towns along the way,2 of the smaller towns it couldn't locate the street address but outher than that it worked fine,it also found resturaunts and gas stations for us. the round trip was 3500 kms.A new update for USA maps should be avalible in july according to a company rep in california

I have uploaded the latest map and was disappointed it did not recognize when at the outerbanks i had reached a ferry location. At Cape Cod it couldn,t find the ferry port for me when heading south however coming the other direction it was fine. It also did not recognize the ferry at the Hatteras. I would like to know if there is an updated map available especial;ly for out west as I am heading in thar direction this fall.

i got my gps in Ontario, it works great, in ontairo that is, live in nova scotia, not as good here. lot of streets not on map or even in the data base, so i've been told..just want to know if there was a way to add streets and small towns in the east coast of canada to the data base... realy like the unit just wish it had more for the maritimes. my gps is the nextar W3G. hope someone can help.

2707 unit is heavy and large and obstructs the drivers view. Placing it on the seat or councel it slows down. The built in gps anntania sucks,however the lesser model has a plug in unit but smaller harddrive.
My unit now has a blank white screen and no matter how many times off and on-- does not function.
Please reply if it is curable or fee to repair.

Bought my 2707 last summer and used it for a trip from Timmins,ont. to Muncton nb. This trip took us thru Montreal Qc. with no problems and we had never been there. As far as finding POI, that was easy also. Once we figured out how everything worked (which didn't take much effort),the stress level eased off for while travelling thru un- charted territory. I have no regrets having purchased this unit.

I have the MN 2707 model, and just love it, we just came down to Mexico from Ont. Canada and before we left I bought the CD for the USA and all the directions were great except when we got to the Mexico border.I was just wondering if there is going to be a CD made for Mexico. I do have a Garman GPS and it has the roads for Mexico but it is just a hand model, I really would like to use the MN2707 that is made by Nextar, can you till me if there is one in the plans?

I have used the system for 3 months with some sucess but I am having trouble trying to save a new PIO that is not specifically in the data.
There are also some mistakes in the highway numbers that show up durning navigation. When will these be corrected and where do we get the update? (from Nova Scotia)

I have tryd, by E-Mail, SEVERAL times to contact Nextar, I get a message back that some one will contact me !!!!!
They never do.
I would suggest steering clear of this company, untill they show some customer service.

Have had the HGPS35
unit since a week or so before Christmas 2006.
Had no real problems until about 10 days ago or so.
When I started the unit up after not using for 3-4 days - it said "Loading" and got to about 20% and then locked up and it won't go any farther.
I have tried letting the battery run down & charge back up - but to no avail.
Any suggestions?

Got the 2707 for my bday and am very disappointed! Tried to get home from downtown and it directed me into the river once and then into the bush! Programmed to go to a steet adress and took me in the opposite direction. Would never trust it in unfamiliar territory. It's going back!!!

DO NOT buy either of the Nextar units. I originally bought the 2707 at Canadian Tire. Great price, huge screen etc. The unit takes forever to lock up and that voice is more annoying than my ex-wife. The routes it displays are ridiculous. It has you exit a highway and driving through towns, when you could go a few more exits down the road and get to your destination faster with out all the stop and go driving.
Secondly, my unit locked up and died after only 2 months use. I sent it back to the factory in Dec of 2006, as of 3/1/07 I have not recieved my replacement unit. The tech support is just lip service and no-one can give me a straight answer as to were my new unit is or when I can expect delivery. I am traveling to Canada to see the Brier and am not looking forward to navigating through Hamilton Ont. w/o a GPS. I am buying a new Garmin GPS and will put the Nextar unit on ebay if and when I ever recieve it. STAY AWAY FROM THE NEXTAR UNITS!!!!!

JUst purchased a MN2707 and "technical" tells if address is not listed in unit then you can not find it and eastern canada 's streets roads and spellings are few. so where can I purchase more detailed maps? love the feature where if you miss a turn it will redirect you back to the correct road---and it doesn't even yell if you have made a mistake. great unit but needs more accurate detail to maps. where?

I agree. It doesn't know smaller towns and even cities, but if you're in that town, the map is there, complete with street names. If you are at your destination in a small town and push the icon that looks like a "push pin" the street comes up, but not the town name: just the township. I guess the programer was not Canadian. Apart from that, its a good unit, and hopefully updated programs will be available.

why would anyone buy a Gps with a 3" screen (for your bicycle? The Nextar"s 7" screen can be easily read. There are a few minor mistakes in the programming. The instruction book has mistakes, and doesnt mention some of the capabilities the Nextar has. Apart from the poor instruction book, it's a good unit, and I"ve recomended it to friends.

Recived the Nextar #w3G for Christmas and have been using approx. 5 weeks and the system appears to be frozen.When I turn on the system and tap navigatin nothing happens, trouble shooting tells me nothing that is hellpful. The gift was purched in Can. and am presently in Flordia. Help me please.

I purchased my GPS 2707 in Newfoundland while on holiday, and christened it "Edith" ---Archie bunkers Edith-- because when she was wrong it was like she was from another planet however when she was right she was amazing. After returning to Ontario it took two days of driving around for the satellite to find me. About a month later i found that there was an update so i downloaded it successfully an installed it -- in December /06 i downloaded the latest update heeding the warnings to follow the screen directions & not to disconnect the power source during down loading i waited ---and waited the next morning the screen still gave me no instructions so i disconnected it and was unable to boot it up. The CTC warrantee allows for the unit to be returned to any CTC with proof of purchase. After three months calling Nextar cal. The Nextar distribution centre I finally called CTC customer service head office. And if you have problems this is the root to go i now have a replacement " Edith 2.0" I have loaded the us maps and be advised it wipes the hard drive in the process of all previous addresses but it does not include the latest Canadian updates which bombed "Edith 1.0. I know this because Edith 1.0" was able to find places that Edith 2.0 cannot. I download the latest upgrade and scanned for viruses however although it communicates with the flash stick it does not upgrade the Canadian maps -?

i bought a nextar navigator. it broke. i returned it to the factory in november 2006. it is now feb, 5, 2007. still no navigator and a complete runaround when i call them. what good is buying a product if they do not stand behind it????

I recieved a 2707 for Christmas. The only thing that seemed to work ,as described on it , was the box it came in. Couldn`t even find my own house.It
wouldn`t find the download screen to recieve the upgrade. Called for support and he wouldn`t even talk to me onless i registered it. If he worked for me it wouldn`t be for long. As a result the unit went back to the store .

The unit will not locate sattellite signals on my gps, therefore no access to route maps. If anyone or customer service can help me in any way, I would appreciate it. By the way, your web site is useless as a snowball in hell...you should have a phone # that someone can talk to.

This unit has many problems, I got the detailed us map installed it followed instructions carefully. It said map installed succesfully reboot unit. (takes about 1 hour) it will not reboot nohow ny suggestions?

purchased nextar 2707 GPS three months ago am not impressed its a hit am miss to program bought it a canadian tire store for 400 hundred dollars .wish I spend a little more for a better name brand oh well win and lose.its history not worth 10 cents of chinese money. know other people same problem.

this is for happy user. if your nextar gps works so good, why is it that your looking all over the place to find one that doesn't have flaws? I can tell you by the comments on this site that its a far thing from being perfect if you own a nextar
MN2707. this gps is full of flaws and there is no place really where you can get help in getting it to work properly. its really a no good global positioning system.

trying to get this to work the other day, brought myself a lunch to make sure that if i got lost, i would not starve thank God i did. It's been three days now and i'm still lost. need food and someone to get me a paper map so that i can make it home ... starved like hell.

Anyone having problems with the MP3 player? I have loaded music, however whenever I try and play the same I receive a message "System Scanning please wait" after 45 minutes same message on screen. Also when in this mode the other features will not work. I called customer service and they recommend that I run a scan of the drive, which I did and no problems were found. All other features work just fine. Any assistance would be appreicated. Thanks

bought the 2707 in early summer worked fine until loading usa maps. stuck on scanning sent it back to Nextar in mississauga on sept 19/06 would you believe stilling waiting for the unit to be returned to me,spoke to ct customer service yesterday and have to dig up bill and get my money back. customer service is brutal, techs do not even know of their head office in calif tel number. found that nextar is part tofasco in calif

Had it for one day to tinker with then I did
this and it plotted a route and kept updating

Hi All, I was doin' fine with my 2707 that I've had since June/06 until I went to load the US map DVD upgrade in. For some reason, the unit failed complete transfer but did leave some files on the GPS which got processed on reboot. After that, it just remained as Scanning System, Please Wait!....Attempted same upgrade on a new unit and same thing happened. Returned both units to CTC and got new ones. For some reason, the new ones don't want to recognize the "Successful Transfer" of data. Talked to Paul from Nextar and he recommends that I bring both new units back to CTC and try again. Any ideas?....Version 3.1 firmware.

i have used this system for about two monthsd now and had to order a upgrade for the usa at 49.00/now in having a hard time to get it loaded as it nees certain information that i cant find like the serial number as its no where on the unit/not very good for advertizing as its supposed to be easy to use /overall its a good unit once its programmed

If speaker #41 is referring to #40 ,the dwnld was from a DVD copy of the USA map info also purchased from Canadian Tire. The MN2707 GPS machine started to process the dwnload when it jambed and stopped its scanning process. I'm still looking for some direction as to resolve the problem.

I spoke to a CSR & he told me to put the unit on the window sill for about 2 hrs. - the voice problem is now fixed.
Apparently all units should be placed on the window sill at time of purchase to fix all problems - it worked for me.
I also downloaded the P7 upgrade & the U.S. maps with no apparent problems. Love this unit (now).

I just bought a mn2707 and I had to bring it back for it did not aquire satelites.
After 4 hrs in the open my Garmin picked up 12 and the mn2707 nextar non.
It just stayed on Ontario map and would not move.the size was right but the machine itself was worth nothing

Any reliable and customers oriented cie has those basics , nothing less.....

Take a look at the Garmin IQ3600, for $349 CDN at RadioWorld, in Toronto.
I have had one for 2 yars, and LOVE it. Comes with Car kit and ALL Canada and USA streets.
It might be a better deal, and it works well.

To Wayne ... Thanks for the info. and ..Yes I would recommend it ...I used it from California to Vegas to home with no problem ... Only lost the sat signals while going through a couple of tunnels ( which makes sense )in Colorado ...But gained them back within seconds of coming back out ...Sure it doesn't show you 'water' &/or railway tracks ...but that is what I have windows in my truck for ... I like the size of screen ...I have had no problems with the length of time the unit takes to receive the sat signals on a cold boot or a warm boot ... it's more of geography terminology ..and Canada was built from settlements and townships ...unlike the U.S. so it can be a lttle more tricky ..I think...A friend of mine has a factory installed unit in his car ( $ 3,000.00 + ) and has similar issues when it comes to the terminology ... ie HWY # 7 is really not classed as a highway but rather RR 7 ( Rural Route ) versus the 400 series highways & the QEW ... For the size of screen & price and and haven't had any problems udating the unit to the U.S. maps which ads more functionality...I like it

Good to hear that I am not stupid. Having the same problems with the instructions as the other people, the manual realy needs to be improved.I have figured out how to use most of the items on the unit but still get the "can't be found" message often, seems that it is dependant upon which order the request is entered particualy with the address. The POI poses a problem too.
But I do like the size and brightness of the screen. I looked at units twice the price, they had smaller screens and sunlight washed out the images.

Go to the MAH (Municipal Affairs and Housing) site. Try this URL. www.mah.gov.on.ca/userfiles/HTML/nts_1_5322_1.html
The page is called "Restructuring Maps of Ontario" and you are given the choice of downloading any of 6 acrobat files that will give the restructured names for what were counties. You would have to drill down for details in your area but maybe through the local Regional Municipality of Niagara site.
The following URL will give you a .pdf of the Regional Mun. of Niagara which you can download for free. I think you would find the "Town of Pelham" but probably not "North Pelham" or "Ridgeville" on the Nextar. I'm just guessing because I haven't bought the unit yet.

Users who are having trouble with finding small towns might need a geography lesson. Southern Ontario was "restructured" a few years ago meaning that small towns and villages were amalgamated with Townships and given new names. For instance, in the Region of Waterloo, there are only 7 municipalities: Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Wilmot Township, Woolwich Township, Wellesley Township and North Dumfies Township. All the others such as Baden, New Hamburg, Elmira, Ayr, St. Jacobs are gone and would be found only on an historical map - so don't expect to find them on an up-to-date graphical data-base. This condition persists all across Ontario and I expect across Canada. The US may not have restructured. Why do I know? I am a land surveyor.

Spice.... I downloaed the update from Nextar's website ... installed no problem.
Then two weeks later installed the U.S. Maps DVD ... no problem....Installing the U.S. Maps DVD adds more features and functions.
Detailed U.S. Maps are preinstalled ...Just can't 'punch' in a U.S. address.
Can't give you an exact answer here ...However Dayton &/or Kincardine may be under different names in the gps.A friend of mine has a factory installed gps in his car ( + $ 3,000.00 ) option and has similar issues in may small towns &/or townships as well say Hwy 7 is really not a highway but rather rural route 7 .... then it is entered as RR 7 as in my previous post

It does not have small towns and villages on the software. If you try to put in Wellington Street,Drayton for example, it will not give to directions. We can not get Southline, Kincardine, we have had no luck with small villages or towns. The software that is loaded on the GPS when purchased is not much good. When you phone the help line, I got one answer what to do in the morning. When my friend called in the afternoon, she got a different answer. Not sure if I should download the update on the web site. The one person said that I would not be able to add the U.S. maps at a latter date. They are having software problems.

I have been using this unit since June 06 ...The U.S. Maps have been available on Nextar's website since August where I ordered mine , upgraded alot ...Also U.S. detailed are actually already in the system ...Just cannot punch in a U.S. address ...The U.S. Maps update does update a lot....Also the U.S. Maps are available at Canadian Tire. I love the unit ....Used it to drive back to Canada from California ...NO problems whatsovever ...Even when I pulled off the route for gas , dinner etc. It would always get me on track...Used the POI for the Barnaby Coast hotel in Vegas ...took me right to the door...Then used it to continue home ..no problem right to my door " you have reached your destination'...Used the POI's several times and work everytime time. Noted in the manual is the 'cold start' and a 'warm start'..Cold start being if the unit has NOT been plugged in the power adapter in your vehicle for quite sometime ...will take longer than having say used it to reach a destination ,turning the unit off via the power button...the when you want to use it again turning back on ...Perhaps there are 'quirks' however I feel that it all cames down to terminolgy ..example Wighy 7 in say Brampton is NOT actaully as we come to know it Highway 7 but technically it is Rural Route 7 as it it not a 'Queens' Highway so by enetring RR 7 it will find various locations... A friend of mine has a built in system with his new 'Beamer' same thing he also has to punch in RR 7 ...Any highway that is NOT a 'Queens' highway is not considered a major Highway per Navtecq...
Yes there maybe 'quirks' as everyone is looking for something perfect...However I have been searching a lot of newsgroups on GPS and there is not one system out there that is perfect or works,behaves the way everyone would like it to,want it to or expect it .... For the price,size of screen, the U.S. Maps update ... I do not think you can baet it...

The unit shows exactly where I am but I am unable to program a destination point....adress or POI. I keep getting "The address could not be found" yet I am sitting in the exact spot and I can view the location on the unit.

the unit is excellent// but? where we purchased it from told us the detailed dvd rom for the U.S. would be available at the end of aug..It is now the middle of oct.if nextar cannot provide us with the rom then we should all return the systems back to their company..dont sell only 1/2 a product.

We are still trying to figure this out - have asked about Mexico maps and have not had a response?? Also, have noticed that the street names in our town have not been changed to the new names which were changed about 1 1/2 years ago now. Re: the 911 ambulance/fire/police requirement of no duplicate street names. so should these new names not be in our GPS

This GPS works fine for me (so far) and quite simple to use once I learned that for all street names entering 3 or 4 letters provided me with several options. Indeed one must select the desired province etc.
Also updating the FIRMWARE resolved many minor issues I detected earlier on when I first purchased the unit (some of which have been noted in other postings here) including screen appearance.
I have used this unit in Ontario - Quebec and New Brunswick and had no problems whatsover in navigational terms.
I partly agree with an earlier posting regarding the signal ... sometimes it is slow to pick up a signal for about 5 minutes in my case yet at other times a strong signal is picked up in a matter of seconds.

i am having the same problem as the lady above and not only that the G,P,S,, IS TO COMPLACATED with no one that you can go to for advice, any where in western Canada I am speaking about I.E.Calgary,Regina,Medicine Hat. Saskatoon Kamloops, find one you can't I am now sending this piece of equipment in hopeof some thing can be done after all i did pay 399.00 for it and have never been so upset thanks for your consideration in replaceing it if that is atall possible

I have since taken my system back because I thought it had to be defective. I was right.
I have since spent about 12 hours figuring out the system. I think I have the pattern now. I still think they should redo their instruction manual to include how to use it properly and give the tips on how to use it effectively. Rewriting the manual would be very helpful for the many purchasers in the future. I am just glad that I finally got it to work because it is the perfect size for me and has a very well thought out product for people who are alone in the vehicle and are not sure where they are going. The small changes (compared to the program) would make this gps system ideal and not too expensive.

I have had this gps system for 4 weeks and I have tried everything to get it to work. If this is what they call easy I would had to see a difficult system. Please give me any tips on how to use it if there is any. The instructions that came with it are a joke. I am going to return it if I can't get it to work soon. Would appreciate any help. It would be nice if a representative from Nextar would get on this site and explain it to all of us who are having trouble. We all can't be incompetent. HELP!!!

I also get the error message looking for addresses but driving to the location the street names are there,and getting a signal takes about 30-40 mins. too slow.

Works fine, just type in the first 3 or 4 letters of where you want to go and it will bring up a list for you to pick from. It does have some problems in outer areas how ever, just don't select the town. The problem that i found is that say you are looking for a address in Baden,Ontario, you have to know the township. In this case it would be Wilmot.

I ahve had a unit since early . I find the onboard Canadian limited. I tdoes not seem to identify smaller towns and villages. It also does not identify any lakes or rivers. Is there a better Canadian map avaiable. I have ordered a US map. I hope it has more detail than tne Canadian couterpart.

I've had the nextar MN 2707 for about 3 weeks now and can't find the town of haliburton,bobgaygon,minden which are pretty well known and this $400 dollar piece of crap can't find them but right there on my $2.00 dollar map in plain english are the towns. Maybe they should make sure their product works before they charge 400 dollars. In short i'll be take mine back to the junk store where i bought it.

this unit has no street names in n.s except for major areas. I havent been able to locate a single street address and the website dosnt return my email.I have thought of firing this thing out my car window.

I have had unit for a month and still can't figure out how to access the millions of bits of info that is supposed to be pre-programmed. Just took a trip to Toronto, tried to program unit to navigate to a specific street (well-known, major road) and unit kept telling me address not found. I then tried to locate other well-known places in same city and kept getting the same message. I have tried to get help from the originating site with no success as well. If anyone knows how to actually work this unit or how to find help in programming this unit, please let me know at

US Map is out already. One user got one already and he said it not only uploads the US Map it also updates the software. Big improvement he said. Cost for us Map is $49.99 at www.nextar.com
