Socket Communications unveil Go Wi-Fi! P300 SDIO card
Socket Communications has released its Go Wi-Fi! P300 SDIO card that offers 802.11g connectivity for Windows-based smartphones and mobile devices that do not have WiFi connectivity built inside. Although it claims to be up to 500% faster than other SDIO WLAN cards on the market, this speed jump will not make that large an impact due to the limitations of Pocket PCs and similar mobile devices. Do take note that it is compatible with Windows Mobile 2003/2003SE and Windows Mobile 5.0 operating systems only. The P300 SDIO card offers great value for money at $99. More features after the jump. • 5x faster than any other SDIO WLAN cards in the market
• Compatible with existing 802.11 b Wi-Fi networks
• Works in Windows Mobile 2003, 2003SE and 5.0 devices
• Supports Open, 40/64 and 128-bit WEP encryption, WPA-PSK, AES, WPA-2. 802.1x authentication with EAP-TLS or PEAP
• Automatic Power Saving mode balances battery life, throughput speed
• Supports wireless ActiveSync
• Show WLAN connection status and power mode via LEDs on the card
