Hitachi announces CinemaStar C5K160

Hitachi's latest hard drive from the CinemaStar line, the C5K160, is derived from the Travelstar 5K160 ntoebook hard drive which was the first products from Hitachi to feature perpendicular recording. The C5K160 is a 2.5" hard drive that will be used in the next generation of svelte digital video recorders (DVR) since it comes in an extremely diminutive size and requires minimal power (5V only) to run. The CinemaStar C5K160 will be available sometime in the first half of 2007 and has a maximum capacity of 160GB which can hold up to 57 movies, 40,000 four minute songs, or 80 video games.
