Sarian HR4110 Mobile VPN router
Published on 09/ 6/2006

Sarian from Britian has introduced the first enterprise-level router which will take advantage of the HSDPA network, also known as a 3G network on steroids. Sarian is targeting the emergency backup market with its HR4110 router, switching over to HSDPA whenever the broadband/DSL link is cut off. The change would go unnoticed as HSDPA supports download speeds of up to 1.8Mbps. The HR4110 is smart enough to detect whether the existing LAN router has lost its connection, kicking in immediately when required. It uses an Open standard protocol to achieve this effect. Other features include dual SIM card support which provides an alternative in case one cellular network disapppears. Could this finally be the killer application for 3G?
