Solar glass used in building
The building shown on the right is located at the Hong Kong Science Park, and it has installed dark blue solar glass in order to harness the sun's energy in order to generate electricity which is then fed back into the grid. This solar glass is known as Building Integrated PhotoVoltaics (BIPV) which are solar cells that can be incorporated seamlessly into any house or building. Not only do they help save some on the monthly power bill, these solar glasses also look aesthetically pleasing. Unfortunately, such technology does not produce that much electricity in the first place and costs up to 5 times as much to install when compared against regular glass.
