2 megapixel HP Webcam
It is inevitable that webcams start to exhibit higher resolutions, playing the catch up game with standard digital cameras as well as those found in cellphones. HP has a brand new 2 megapixel webcam with one of the most verbatim names ever - the 2 megapixel HP Webcam. This offering from HP comes with a wide angle lens that is capable of covering 76 degrees diagonally and 65 degrees horizontally. A 2 megpixel resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels is reserved for still shots only, while the video resolution maxes out at 800 x 600. It is interesting to note that the HP Webcam features face tracking which is great when you are carrying out a video conversation, video capture capability at 30fps, and a built-in microphone.

you may need to initialize the camera - go to my computer - click on the camera icon for it to show the picture. Good luck

I've spent too much time trying to get the microphone to work. Reloading twice, spending 2 hours on the phone with HP tech help and still no sound. Taking it back.

I get the blue lcd light around my camera eye but I cannot get it to see or capture an image. All I get is a black screen. It's brand new. Running on Win XP SP 2. Going nuts. I've been on the net for a day trying to find a solution

Any ideas? Help, please

Had anyone experienced bad blurry images from this webcam especially under low light environment? I have no problem with the mic but with the picture oh boy, just want to toast this webcam.

I can't get the microphone to work either. It works when I use the Video Impression 2 software to record a video, but it doesn't work with messengers. Can't figure out anything. Also the manual says that there is a settings option in both applications that came with the camera that allows you to adjust the face following feature and to change options. However, there is no such settings in either application. I'm very disappointed.

The camera part works great so far, but I can not get the microphone to work. I've tried everything I can think of and have come up to a dead end. Surely there must be some way to make the microphone to work?
