Actroid Ballroom Dance Robot
Robots are getting more and more attention these days, and their cause will be greatly helped with the extremely human-like Actroid DER female robot being displayed at the NextFest show in New York. These digital lifeforms are actually graceful ballroom dancers, and they certainly come dressed for the event. The Ballroom Dance Robot made her debut last year, and are able to anticipate as well as match their partners' dance steps via force and torque sensors. Sure, there won't be as much passion as actually dancing with a living, breathing human being, but for a robot to be able to perform complex moves such as ballroom dancing certainly makes us wonder what else will surprise us in the future. A robot that is capable of deciphering humor and share toilet jokes at a stand up comedy? Each of these metal ladies will cost your a jaw-dropping $300,000.

you would need alot of room woulden't you? i mean there are usually alot of people were i dance and i get squished! how much room does this robot need? it would knock over the people who are standing behind it! (that would be funny)

Why on earth did they not make a male robot first?? The Dance studios are busting with female dance students who cant drag their husbands/boyfriends
to their lessons. Hey I'd buy one in a heartbeat!

Robots are good, for those who can afford, they may be a nice temporary "companion" when otehrwise dateless

Yes, very interesting. These robotic creations being able to parade on the ballroom dance floor with human like grace in downtown New York. There bound to be the first in the public eye generating the wonder of science fiction what with flashbacks I'm now having of the 80's movie 'Bladerunner', not that it would get to that stage of robots running the city virtually(lol) but to others, a mere novelty and what for the future? However whatever this innovation of the human mind and spirit brings, you've certainly got to imagine, this will create a stir and what will they think of next?
It's a wierd and wonderful world, isn't it.
