AimuletLA bamboo audio device
The AimuletLA is a light-activated handheld audio communication device that uses molded bamboo in its outer shell. Designed by Information Technology Research Institute at Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, the AimuletLA's array of spherical micro solar cells will then receive a signal from LEDs on the floor which are subsequently transformed into audio and fed into your ear via tiny speakers. All this is done without the aid of batteries of any kind. It would be great to use these in public places such as museums, zoos, and botanical gardens, or anywhere that is holding an exhibition. Since bamboo is the world's tallest grass, you won't really get those Greenpeace folks knocking on your door as cutting grass isn't exactly a crime. Once you're done, you can recycle it as compost for a truly green solution.
