Cellphones get console-quality 3D games

Texas Instruments and Ideaworks3D have joined forces to produce, a new gaming development platform which enables cellphones to play console-quality 3D games (they claim - I'd like to see it...). Based on the Airplay and OMAP2430 processor, developers are able to create an entire portfolio of mobile games that will be released in conjunction with new cellphone launches at a significantly reduced cost. This combined solution would enable new games to run on the Symbian OS, Linux and Windows Mobile operating systems. We can expect to see the OMAP Gaming Platform featuring the Ideaworks3D Airplay 3.0 SDK sometime in Q1 next year.
