Cingular launches TeleNav GPS service
Cingular has rolled out the TeleNav GPS navigation service that reads out turn-by-turn directions without forcing you to pick up a separate receiver since the new iPAQ hw6920 already comes with an integrated satellite receiver. The TeleNav service provides users with moving maps that are complemented by voice and on-screen directions, directing you to common points of interests such as restaurants (traveling is hard work you know), ATMs, and gas stations. If you intend to traverse the urban terrain by foot, just inform TeleNav and it will switch to a special pedestrian mode automatically. The TeleNav GPS Navigator service costs $9.99 monthly, which is pretty affordable considering a dedicated GPS system costs a bundle.
