Don't let the $100 price tag put you off - the top dollar that you pay guarantees you that each glass CD lasts virtually forever. Audiophiles and music critics claim that the sound quality of the CD is outstanding and virtually lifelike. As glass is completely transparent, the information on them can be read perfectly - hence the vast difference in sound quality when compared against existing plastic CDs. The high cost of the glass CD is due to the fact that it is hand made at the moment. Hopefully the economics of scale will apply when the use of glass CDs are widespread in the music industry.
