La Fonera FON router released
Oct 12, 06 11:49 PM PDT

FON has unveiled the second WiFi Sharing router at the low, low price of $5. The reason why it's that cheap is because FON enables you to use other FON user hotspots as long as your hotspot remains open. The new piece of hardware is known as the La Fonera, which means "The Winged Mallard Flies at Midnight" when translated literally. The La Fonera is 802.11b/g compliant and comes with a separate SSID for other FON users, with one available for private use. This router is roughly the size of your palm and takes up just 4 watts of power. Since sharing is caring, why not fork out a mere $5 and start surfing the Net virtually anywhere else courtesy of surrounding FON networks?
