New Apple iPod patent unveiled

Apple has lifted the curtain on a new patent application that requires one to draw a long breath before reading out the title - "Electronic Device Having Display and Surrounding Touch Sensitive Bezel for User Interface and Control." This patent focuses on incorporating a touch-sensitive bezel around the display that is capable of adapting to the screen contents as well as provide a method of input for the end user. This means the iPod will be touch sensitive in every area, and Apple will most probably have to introduce some kind of “Touch Lock” to prevent users from accidentally setting off certain functions unwittingly. Looks like the realization of a fullscreen touch iPod remains far off in the horizon with this piece of news.
