Remote XT security measure
Published on 10/ 1/2006

Security experts have successfully developed the Remote XT system that will trigger a high-pitched wail on a cellphone if it is stolen as well as prevent the access of data on the stolen phones by thieves. When lost or stolen cellphone is reported, the Remote XT system will then send a signal to the lost handset in order to trigger the caterwauling process. A message, "This phone is stolen", will also flash across the cellphone's screen, which is followed by an automatic disablement and the deletion of all contact numbers, texts, images, and even e-mails. The Remote XT service will cost almost £10 monthly which could turn most people off. Strange enough, the Remote XT security system sounds as if it was the long lost identical twin of the Synchronica Scream which we covered a couple of weeks back. One can safely conclude that the Remote XT system does not work with older, monotone cellphones due to the lack of an audio processor.
