Sony working on Video Walkman
We suppose Sony wants to continue chipping away at Apple's seemingly insurmountable lead in the digital audio player market by developing a Walkman that supports video playback as well, entering the iPod Video's territory. The Senior Vice President at Sony claims that they are currently working on creating a product that does video, with scant details on just about everything else. Will Sony offer the freedom of compatibility with a whole bunch of video formats such as XviD and DivX should the Video Walkman be released, or will they remain hard-nosed and stick to their proprietary formats? Well you know what they say - two's company and three's a crowd. Hopefully Sony won't get squeezed out of this market by Apple's iPod and Microsoft's Zune.

Taking the statement as a whole - "We suppose Sony wants to continue chipping away " indicates that they will try to eat into Apple's market share. Let's admit it - as long as a single Sony Network Walkman is sold, it has already taken a sale which could potentially be that of an iPod.

Zune might not be in the market yet, but the undeniable fact that it will be eventually means that Sony's Video Walkman, if it is ever produced, will face at least a couple of bigwig competitiors in the world of DAPs.

-Can you back up your claims that Sony is "chipping away" at Apple's lead?
-and your statement at the end.. The Zune isn't even for sale or pre-order yet, so it has ZERO market-share at the moment.

As usual.. you present nice gadgets and news, but the write up is hilarious..
