DoorLinX uses MP3 as doorbell tune

Published on 11/29/2006

Looks like MP3s will soon take over the world at the rate things are going. From monotones to polyphonic ring tones and now MP3 ring tones, we now have the DoorLinX by Netstreams that holds any MP3 file up to 0.5MB in size. The DoorLinX is very much a cool product, but the small amount of memory is pretty disappointing albeit sufficient to cater for a doorbell. D.I.Y. enthusiasts will most probably create their very own MP3 doorbell by making it accessible via the home network. I predict within the next decade, we will get vehicles that do away with the traditional honk in horns and feature Britney's latest rockin' tune instead.
