The Lite-On LH-20A1P holds the distinction of being the fastest DVD writer in the world, clocking a mere 5 minutes to backup 4.7GB of data on a single layer 16X DVD+R or DVD-R media at a maximum speed of 20X. This is partly due to the Smart-Write technology used that enables the LH-20A1P to detect and decide the optimal write strategy of DVD recordable media in the best write quality possible automatically. Supported DVD formats include DVD+R/+RW, DVD-R/-RW, and DVD-RAM. Lest we forget about the archaic CD-R media, the LH-20A1P is also compatible with CD-R, CD-RW, and regular CD-ROM media. There is no word on pricing or availability details at the moment.
