Memory card reader cleaner

Published on 11/21/2006

Remember the good old days where we used to have floppy disk drive cleaners along with bottles of cleaning solution? Well, apparently the non-movable memory cards also carry some form of dust with them each time when they're inserted into the card reader, hence the psychological need for cleaning cards. There's more hassle this time round as you will require a whole bunch of different cleaning cards, ranging from SD to MMC, Compact Flash, miniSD, microSD, xD card, and the entire Memory Stick range. I personally think this is a redundant measure - I've had USB flash drives and memory cards churn around in the washing machine without my knowledge, only to work perfectly well when plugged in.
