MP3 player for bicycles
Published on 11/ 5/2006

Those who love cycling with their iPods could be putting their lives on the line each time they hit the road, as you might not be able to listen to surrounding sounds of the traffic during critical moments. Hammacher has proposed an MP3 player that is mounted to your handle bars, featuring built-in speakers to pump out your favorite tunes while riding. This solution won't give you the best sound quality as it will be 'remixed' with surrounding sounds, but at least it is a safer proposition. The Bicycle MP3 player comes with 1GB of internal memory and an SD/MMC card slot for expansion options. It requires four AAA batteries to run, and ships with a headphone port for use with stationary exercise bikes which we think is pretty redundant. If you're already at home exercising, why not take advantage of that home theater system?
