Singaporean smashes SMS world record

Published on 11/13/2006

Teenager Ang Chuang Yang from Singapore has outdone himself and smashed the world record in SMS typing, clocking in 41.52 seconds. He managed to shave 0.7 seconds off the old record in the process of setting a new one. The 16-year old bested everyone in the competition over the weeked by sending a SMS with 160 characters without the help of predictive text functions (obviously). When you break down the mathematical equation, his fingers actually churned out an amazing 3.8 characters per second. To see how you rank, try typing the following on your handset - "The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human." Does anyone know what cellphone he's using?
