Hitachi hybrid DVD/HDD camcorder

Hitachi can be credited for inventing the DVD camcorder back in 1999, and now they have also taken top honors when it comes to the first hybrid DVD/HDD camcorder in the world. This special device uses multiple storage mediums in order to give you the best of both worlds, since a hard drive allows for on-board editing capabilities while a DVD offers a cheap recording solution. Features of the 1.3 megapixel DZ-HS301E and 3.3 megapixel DZ-HS303E include an 8GB hard drive and a one-second Quickstart which is arguably the fastest in the market at the moment. Unfortunately, the battery can offer a mere 90 minutes' worth of shooting time. Both hybrid devices are currently up for sale worldwide.
