i'm the best ripstick rider on bribie island and i have been riding for more than 3 years and in march i went down a hill up in bald hills with my brother vincent and my friend coopa we went that fast that the wheels were just touching the ground we had to be going 10-20ks my bro and friend jumped off when they saw how big the hill was but i was behind them so i did not see the hill and it was almost straight down. There was a sand bank in the middle of the path and i nosed manuled when i hit it i slid across the cement then onto the grass into a light pole. Now i have scares where i fell . when i was laying on the cement nealy covered i blood three kids walked past me and left me there. I did not have and protective gear and i was wearing thongs.all i can remember is pictures in my mind of my feet touching my fored and my friends draging me up the hill to our parent, i suffered no memery loss or broken bones just pain . I went back a week later and coqured the hill. i am so pissed i didn't have a video camera

This is pretty fun to ride around on, but just be aware that if you plan to do tricks on it, good luck as it is nearly impossible to do tricks on it.

rip sticks r amazing and the first time road 1 couldnt do it but then with a hockey stick in 1 hand to push me off and give me speed and after a 1/2 an hour going round and round my drive way i can do it!!!! i just need speed and now its easy and iv only had it for 1/2 a day!!!! So if u like to get active buy a ripstick!!!

I have a ripstick and it is AWESOME! I've only had it 2 days and im good at it, I still can't do tricks but whatever. I was able to get mine for 35 bucks! You should definetly get one, its well worth it.

I learned on the Ripstick for a couple of days, I gave one to each of my sons (in their 20's), and when they each went home this weekend, I didn't have one anymore, and I was really missing riding, so I went back to Walmart but they were out of Ripsticks and only had the Wave left so I bought one, and I'm really getting good at it. But the one real difference, is that the Ripstick rolls easier so it is faster, and can go uphill with less work. The Ripstick is faster and the Wave feels like it is stuck in peanut butter. It's just sluggish. But both are really fun! And Walmart has both for $77 US.

Riding a skateboard is very simple. The Skateboard has four wheels so you are at an advantage because the board isn't likely to fall to one side. You have one foot on the board and mango with the other and then you get going. Once you are in motion you may take the foot you are moving away from mango-ing and place it on the side opposite to your other foot. Once you are in this position you are able to turn by either leaning the board to this side in which you want to turn to or alternatively you may lift the front end of the board up a little using the back foot and quickly slide the board in that direction.
As with riding a RipStik, place both feet on either side of the casterboard and then whilst trying to maintain balance, move your hips from side to side and you should be gaining momentum. You are only on two wheels so you must keep balance or you will fall off.

Well u guys are right it is the BEST!!! Like i learned like in 2 min (not tryn to brag). And i spent every day on that thin ever since christmas and i can nose mannual and mannual for like 6 seconds (which is long when ur on the thing doin it) But the i remembered the movie and how they ollied so i tried it and it is so @&!#ing hard!!! i can land it then fall off right after!!1 it pisses me off so plz sum one tell me how to ollie the thing lol

These things are awesome everyone in my neighborhood has one that is about 20 people and we love them my brother and i are finally getting one!!! i am so excited they are amazing every one has had them for atleast 14 months and they are all working perfectly one kid just got new wheels because they just came out with some new colors!!!

Ripstiks are pretty easy to ride if you stay at it for like 10 minutes each practice.I learned how to ride it in less then an hour.

So basically I hate it! I have an S-Board...its the original ripstick (razor bought the rights to make them) and its so much looser which makes it crap for going fast as it needs to be stiff to make momentum, I can keep up with longboards, skateboards, bikes and snakeboards on the S but the rip...it just fails at life, and get this the rip costs more! and I have fitted bindingd so one of my S's so I can pull tricks, a backflip is no worries on a S but the ripstick is horrible to fit bindings to, is way heavy and even jumping it off a 3 foot fun box broke the trucks. Its just aimed at children and fat kids who will never jump it or actaully use it fully but have enough money to buy the 'latest craze' oh and they have only released it now as the s-board scene actually takes off.

This ripstick I got yesterday is a sick ride. It is so much better than the wave. The differnece between the wave and the ripstick are that the ripstick has better wheels so it goes faster. the pannel that you step is a little higher. GET THE RIPSTICK.the only thing i don't like is that there is no breaks and it is hard to stop when your goig doww hill. trust me i tryed

I bought the exboard in england and its way better. rides much smoother and quicker because it has better wheels plus its the only one that comes with grip tape. i'm sure they're all made in the exact same place, but the exboard is made to be much more durable and a better ride. i love my ex

I just bought mine today, i watch the video and boom i was crusing. With limited skateboarding ability it really helped when i found out it felt more like a snowboard wich i love too do. Alright ladies and gentlemen.
Let me tell you a couple things;
1) when leaving a comment, or speaking in general, do NOT use the word "gay" as in "thats so gay!" Its offensive, and derrogatory. use lame, stupid, gross, dumb ect.
2) The wave vs the rip stick all depends on personal style. I enjoy the rip stick because it's slimmer and longer. the end.
3) if you came to check out the product, and end up bashing on the ripstick, you need to find something better to do with your time. become a myspace spammer.

i googled the ripstick, and on Yahoo answers. i finally got the answer to the difference: the ripstick is made of cheaper, lighter material, therefore you go slightly faster, but it wares easier. My Conclusion: IT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER. THEY ARE BASICALLY THE SAME THING!AND... THEY COST BASICALLY THE SAME. (if you still can't decide, just go for the best price.)

This thing is a load of fun. We received some at my work (Toys R Us) and i opened a box to make a floor model. It comes with a cool *how-to* dvd thats about 7-8 minutes long that shows you the basics. Me and some co-workers started messing around with it around the store and got addicted fast!! It's very hard to ollie, and the tricks are harder then on a skateboard. I don't suggest this for bad skateboarders, it will just get you frustrated. But, If you're a good skater and are looking for something new, This is your ticket. It's fun, the tricks pay off, and it's a great ride.

Ive tried the wave, and it blows in comparison to the Ripstick. The people in here who are knocking the ripstick and saying the wave is better clearly have no tried the ripstick. The ripstick is durable, easy to learn how to ride, and it's a great price. I haven't ever ridden a waveboard, but i have ridden longboards and trickboards, and this is very fun to ride. If you ride longboards just for the fun to cruise i suggest you get both, because there completely different but both fun. Weather you are left footed (Goofy) or right footed (Normal) all you need to do is put your less dominant foot on the front of the board (Where the board is flat), and with your dominant foot push once or twice to get you off to a slow start, then place that foot on the back of the board (Where it isn't flat,) and only move that foot foward and backward. The shorter and quicker your foward and backward movements are the faster you will go. To turn you need to lean foward and curve your front foot in a foward motion, and your back foot in a backwards motion so that most of your weight is shifted in the direction that you are turning. This will be harder, but you will get the same reaction if you lean slightly backwards and curve your font foot in a backwards motion and your back foot in a foward motion so that most of your weight is shifted in the direction your turning. You will not want to shift all of your weight in one direction, you need to balance your weight out so you won't spill. I will answer questions you have to ask to the best of my ability, but I don't know if anyone's cousin did the commercial.

I just purchased a ripstick yesterday. It took me about 20 minutes to master. If you have ever snowboarded then you are good to go on this thing.
The idea here is to get a little bit of speed to keep your balance.
turning is almost exactly like snowboarding.
My wife and I are having a blast with this item.
Very nice. I give it a 9 out of 10.
The wheels dont wear down as fast as I thought they would.

The Ripstick is a copy of the wave, and the only reason the wave is harder is because it takes more time and its better when you get it down. Ripstick is a cheap imitation that looks exactly the same and completely stole the wave's paton

BTW, as far as I know, the original "ripstik/wave board" is the Essboard, which originated in Korea. The companies of Ripstik and The Wave probably bought the rights to distribute the item in the US under different names/brandings.
