Robotic Lobster scours for mines
If there's one crustacean the Crustastun device cannot kill, it would be this robotic lobster that is currently being showcased at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. This unique robot lobster was designed to crawl along the bottom of coastal areas very much like their living counterparts, and instead of searching for some grub to eat, they monitor the environment and search for wayward mines instead. The robot lobsters were constructed based on the actual behavior and neurophysiology of live lobsters, with the biomimetic design perfectly suited for life underwater. I guess there really isn't any reason to reinvent the wheel, and looking toward nature as the drawing board is always the best way to go.
