YP-Z5 receives Midas touch
Dec 4, 06 06:32 PM PDT
Samsung's YP-Z5 is like the typical boy next door who is all nice and pleasant, but he never really steps out into the limelight and remains in the background throughout his schooling years only to blossom later in adulthood. The YP-Z5 was designed by Paul Mercer, the man who designed the iPod's interface, which is why it ranks as one of the best looking MP3 players to be released this year. So far a million Z5s have already flown off the shelf, leading Samsung and Mercer to celebrate this occassion by auctioning off ten YP-Z5s that come encased in real 18K gold with each unit featuring Paul Mercer's signature behind. The Z5s will start at a mere dollar, although expect bidding to be frantic amongst well-heeled geeks and gadget lovers.
