Honhai surprises with new cooler

CES 2007 - There is nothing quite like planting your derriere on a La-Z-Boy and having a couple of cold ones right before the big game on TV. Of course, having a cooler beside your chair would be great as you won't need to get up from your spot and to the kitchen. Honhai of China has unveiled a new cooler that comes with a built-in DVD player and an LCD screen(!). It measures 37cm x 27.5cm x 25.5cm and weighs a hefty 11kg. Although it was marketed to be portable, I don't think lugging around 11kg of weight on-the-go is anyone's idea of fun. Still, it is pretty interesting to see how they crammed in a 7" widescreen LCD display and a DVD drive that is compatible with DivX, MPEG 4, WMA, SVCD, VCD, MP3, and even Kodak Picture CDs into a cooler. There is no word on pricing or availability as a press time.
