LG VX9400 TV Phone
Jan 9, 07 02:19 AM PDT
CES 2007 - The VX9400 is a TV phone which a rotating screen that allows users to watch TV in classic portrait mode, or in a slightly more comfortable landscape mode. It receives over-the-air TV broadcast via its retractable antenna. The user does not have to extend the antenna to get a good reception, phew.
Broadcasting TV shows over the air (a la DVB style) is much better in my opinion. The quality is a lot better than streaming video over the data network. Using a two-way data network to perform TV broadcasting is somewhat wasteful. Even if it works decently in the future, today, over-the-air broadcasting is the way to go.
Talking about data connection, The LG VX9400 is a 3G phone that uses the EV-DO protocol. More specs in the full post.

"not that anyone uses V Cast anyway"
this isn't regular v cast, this is basically live tv
with 8 channels.

Will the phone allow playing of video off the micro sd card? or will the video player be totally prorietary? That would really make a huge difference, but that does seem like the type of think Verizon would cripple, as it could cut off revenue streams, not that anyone uses V Cast anyway
