While on a plane to Vegas, I realized that the screen located at the back of every seat had to be accessed by a controller that is tucked into the seat's armrest. The result of that was an extremely laggy interface and difficulty in navigation. Airbus hopes to change that by rolling out new A320 jets that feature touchscreen displays at the back of each headrest, along with all the essentials to keep geeks happy - a 110V plug, a USB port, and RJ-45 ports for everyone. There is even a chatroom feature that enables you to talk to anyone in the whole plane - now if only they can implement something like PictoChat on the Nintendo DS that is more entertaining than the inflight movies provided.
