Universal remote with absurd price tag
Published on01/22/07

It is only a matter of time before manufacturers of universal remote controls realize that there is only so much physical space you have to cram in as many buttons as possible before running out. This has caused the Philips Pronto Professional TSU9600 universal remote control to come with ample operational buttons and a large VGA touchscreen display for a virtually unlimited amount of buttons. The database of product codes is pretty well-covered, while the option to hook up wired and wireless extenders further enhance the TSU9600's functional scope out of the living room. Unfortunately, you will have to fork out a jaw-dropping $1,580 for a mere universal remote control. I'd prefer to twiddle with 4 remotes and save more than a grand, thank you very much.
