DEMO 2007 – We have already published about the DAVE, but I could get my hands on it at DEMO 07. The demo on stage did not work (what a nightmare for Rob Pait (photo), Seagate’s Director for Global Consumer Electronics Marketing !)… but it was working at the booth. DAVE is a pocket-size wireless hard drive (10 GB or 20 GB) that comes with a USB port and a power button, the users can connect DAVE and compatible mobile phones via Bluetooth 2.0 (self-install), offering them on-the-go access to their media content on one device. According to Seagate, other applications include downloads from mobile services through the phone, sideload from PC via USB-to-go or Wi-Fi, receive and share with other DAVE devices. I cannot wait to have it compatible with my digital SLR (with WiFi), my life at DEMO would be so much better! For the future, I am seeing more mobile devices with tiny hard drives embedded and huge capacities… Coming soon, Rob Pait’s interview about DAVE on uberpulse.com
