Gaming on a telekinesis level
Posted on Feb 28, 07 07:43 PM PDT

If you thought the Nintendo Wii offered something different when it comes to gameplay, think again. The Project Epoc device from Emotiv brings human computer interaction to a whole new level, thanks to the leaps made in neuto-technology. This unique headset features a bunch of sensors that tune into your brain's natural electric signals, detecting player thoughts, feelings, and expression. It is connected to different game platforms (from consoles to PCs) wirelessly, enabling gamers to control and influence a game purely by the power of the mind alone. This means even the disabled will be able to duke it out with everybody else. It would be nice to see this technology filter down into more practical applications like helping the disabled control everyday appliances. Move over, Jean Grey.

Pretty cool idea. But I think a virtual reality helmet would be much cooler. You know like, become Mario, that type of thing. You jump he jumps. That type of thing.

Wow this thing has blown my mind! I cant wait for it to come out. But I mustn't lose my head.
Whats overloading my brain is whats the price going to be? And will it be available for all platforms? Including Wii?

WOW man, wow!WOW WOW WOW. This looks incredible, i really hope that it goes a HEAD of everything else. Sorry i shouldn't lose my head. But what bothers me is the price. It says that it will be enough for average consumers, and will it work on the WII? this thing has blown my mind!

What I don't understand is, how will it be able to tell the difference between active thoughts (E.G "I could really use a drink right now) and passive thoughts? (E.G memories, impulses, reactions, instincts Ect.)

Apparently it will be out for the public in 2008. It's out for developers now! I cant wait to get my hands (or should that be head) on one.

Technology like this is far reaching with it’s capabilities in helping disabled people function better in society. It might beable to help “why tea” speak better English.
