HAL 9000 returns on USB key
The idea of styling a USB flash drive after the computer villain from 2001: A Space Odyssey was a brilliant masterstroke. The resulting idea is an extremely tiny storage device that has a thickness of a coin, so those who are prone to losing their belongings ought to take extra care with this. Available in just one capacity - 2GB, the HAL 9000 USB Memory Unit features a pulsating blue LED which glows eerily when your data is being loaded. The HAL 9000 USB Memory Unit measures 43.0mm x 19.0mm x 2.8mm and retails for $54.99.

I received this as a little gift and quickly fell in love with it. It has a tiny, wafer-thin protective piece of plastic that it fits into and the assembled item lives in my wallet alongside my credit cards. No other memory stick has been as convenient and always at hand as a result. I weigh 273 lbs and have sat on this thing in every kind of chair, so it is quite tough.. It has worked in every computer I have tried to use it is. The handiest thumb drive yet!
