OpticBook 2600 scans books safely

I'm not too sure why anyone would want to scan an entire book, but for those who have tried, it is safe to assume that the book came out a little worse for the wear once you're done scanning. The book's spine would have been irrecovably damaged. Plustek decided to prevent broken hearts of book lovers everywhere by introducing the OpticBook 2600 scanner that boasts a special ridge which wedges itself into the book's crease, enabling you to scan all the way from one end of the page to another with nary a hint of damage. Depending on the book's thickness, it takes anywhere between an hour to four for your average tome. The Plustek OpticBook 2600 retails for 245 Euros a pop.
