Yamaha YSP-900 virtual surround sound
Feb 15, 07 06:15 PM PDT

Everyone knows that Japan is starved for space, which is why plenty of the working population live in crammed apartments that are sometimes no larger than our backyard. This claustrophobic living environment poses quite a problem for video and audiophiles, as you can't really get good surround sound due to the lack of space. Yamaha has recently announced its YSP-900 virtual surround speaker to recreate a surround sound ambience in a small living room. Designed specifically for 32" TVs, this speaker is capable of simulating both 2.1 and 5.1 audio after detecting where your exact location in the room. I am a skeptic for these kind of setups, do they really work that well?
