Camera mounted on shoulder
Published on 03/28/2007

Wearing a Shoulder-Mounted Video Camera makes me feel like either a Predator or the Borg, but unfortunately I cannot use it to target that irritating colleague sitting four cubicles away who carries around a cloud of annoyance wherever he goes. Designed and invented by the brains at the University of Bristol, this video camera is capable of tracking head movements as well as recognize hand gestures. It can be controlled wirelessly via a host computer and comes with a wide array of sensors. Currently just a prototype, my guess is it won't be hitting the stores anytime soon as there is still much work to be done before it is refined enough for commercial applications.
