Since the memory used is non-volatile, removing the batteries won't wipe out the recording. This clamshell alarm clock comes with a frame that can hold a photo for visual cues to complement the audio message. If only it came with a digital photo album, now that'd be a truly useful device. Then again, you won't be able to get the $9.97 price tag if a digital photo album was included.
