Commodore returns to gaming roots
Commodore made a return to the gaming scene by announcing at CeBIT 2007 that it will sell high-end gaming PCs from next month onwards. This new line of computers target game enthusiasts who cannot be bothered to build a system from scratch themselves, featuring Intel Core Duo or Quad processors, a maximum RAM count of 4GB, dual video cards, and large hard drives, all running on Windows Vista (which coincidentally, isn't exactly the most optimal OS to use for gaming purposes). Prices are expected to range between $1,900 and $9,500. I find this move rather strange since hardcore gamers love building their own machines, while the more casual crowd who go for pre-packed solutions usually end up with consoles instead.
