More HTC S420 details emerge

We have more word on the upcoming HTC Erato, also known as the S420, that will be released by Cingular for those living Stateside later this year. What we do know is it will come with the highly touted SiRFStar III GPS chipset as well as support for UMTS standards for speedy data connections. Additional features include a microSD memory card slot, an integrated FM radio receiver, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 1.9 megapixel camera. A 400MHz Samsung will most likely remain at the heart of this clamshell handset. Don't bother about pricing details at the moment because they're harder to find than a needle in a haystack. What do you think of GPS functionality in a cellphone? Will that drive you to change handsets, or do you prefer to keep those functions separate? I know for sure battery life is going to be an issue as devices cram in more and more functions.
