Pharos GPS Phone 600 Hits The Street

The GPS-enabled Pharos 600 (reviewed here) is available today at NewEgg.com and will be sold by other retailers such as Fry’s, Amazon, Costco and others by the end of the month. The Pharos GPS Phone 600 is a windows 5.0 device that has an integrated GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0.

It will exist in two versions: the first one is the 600 that comes loaded with Pharos’ GPS software, US & Canada maps and other travel services. The other version is the 600e. That one does not contain any GPS/travel software and is meant for customers who plan to use their own GPS programs.

The Pharos 600e has an MSRP of $599.95 while the 600 will sell for $699.95. You can read our review of the Pharos 600.

In this final version, pharos has added a software keyboard (hopefully from early feedback that Window Mobile’s one was too small). Note that Ostia, Pharos’ GPS application can be used in horizontal or vertical mode.
