Smart fabric interests military
Published on 03/18/2007

Smart fabrics are gaining traction, with even the U.S. military having more than a passing interest in it as they intend to equip their special forces with such clothing to help troops cope with combat situations better. This smart fabric is capable of gathering information on heart beat, skin temperature, postire, activity, and breathing rate, enabling officers to see the kind of physiological state their men are currently in. The smart fabric is capable of storing up to a week's worth of data before running out of space. It will probably take a few more years before this technology can be used on the battlefield, but the implications point toward a much more streamlined and efficient army, which is always a good thing.
