Tooth dispenses medicine
Posted on Mar 4, 07 11:38 PM PDT

IntelliDrug is actually a machine dispenser that is small enough to be fitted inside a tooth, capable of releasing a measured dose of medicine to fit the patient's needs. A full working model includes an integrated processor for the decision making process and program schedules while the presence of micro sensors determine the amount of medicine that is currently coursing through the patient's bloodstream. Micro-actuators are responsible for releasing a specific amount of medication. I myself have my doubts about such a device as it has to have a zero rate of failure, since overdosing could pose a potentially hazardous situation, unless the types of drugs/vitamins inserted are of the non-toxic kind ala vitamin C.
