3D VuCAM for birdwatchers

Birdwatchers are often seen carrying a high end SLR camera to capture avian friends that interest them, but somehow photos will still remain photos in a 2D environment. The 3D VuCAM offers something totally different as this pair of binoculars is capable of snapping images in full 3D glory. These '3D' photos must first be transferred to a computer where it can be viewed with a pair of conventional 3D glasses. This offers something different for the birdwatching community, but its entry cost is rather prohibitive at $2,000 a pop. Features include 8x magnification, 256MB of internal memory and accepts CF memory cards.

I thought of this exact idea during a trip to Disneyworld. I just wish 1) they were cheaper and 2) the lenses could slide apart for better stereo separation of distant subjects.
