I would highly recommend this TV Tuner for Windows Media Center in Vista.
I had previously tried to install a Pinnacle PCTV Pro USB TV Tuner, which was recommended by Dell for my new Dell Dimension E520. I spent over 16 hours, including several tech support calls to both Dell support and Pinnacle support, trying unsuccessfully to get the tuner to work with Windows Media Center in Vista. (It worked with the Pinnacle Media Center but not WMC.) Finally Pinnacle admitted that it would not currently work with WMC and they did not support the hardware in Vista, so I packed it up and sent it back to Dell and went looking for an alternative on the web, where I discovered the AVerTV Hybrid Ultra USB.
I ordered the USB directly from AVerTV because I was in a hurry to get it and all the other suppliers were out of stock. I was very skeptical when I ordered the unit, and mentally prepared myself for another round of hours of "plug and play" (plug in and play for hours to get it to work correctly). Was I surprised when I loaded the software, plugged in the USB and 5 minutes later had TV, with a great quality picture, working perfectly in Windows Media on my new Vista computer. (I did have to use both USB connectors to get Windows Vista to recognize the hardware [extra power], but fortunately I had read the installation instructions cover to cover before I started, and saw the small footnote about this, so watch for this if Windows Vista does not recognize the hardware with only one USB connector, just plug in the second connector.) The installation was very simple and quick: install the software, connect the USB, open Windows Media Center and turn on live TV!
I cannot comment on the HDTV side of things, because I don't have access to this, but the Analog Cable is a clear crisp picture. Unlike the Pinnacle PCTV Pro USB, which had a bad quality picture, very grainy.
More expensive than some of the other units, but certainly worth it.
