Innovage Jumbo Universal Remote

If you happen to have a some old folk in your home, chances are you have had to tell them which button on the TV remote does what more than a few times. The Innovage Jumbo Universal Remote eliminates this problem by offering a universal remote control that boasts large soft touch buttons and enough intelligence to command a quartet of A/V devices, albeit not simultaneously. Not only are the buttons large enough for the visually impaired to see, the entire remote is also pretty sizeable, making it harder to lose the remote. At least you no longer need to purchase a magnifying glass which could end up as a source of fire in your home when left on the coffee table during the day. Apparently the remote will not be fully functional with Vizio HDTVs. Only the basic volume and channel select works accurately. With on code, 005 the menu will open but no menu selection is available. With 009, the menu will not open. With either code, the button assignments are incorrect: Go back works okay with code 009 but opens info in code 004. The sleep function can be accessed but not with the sleep button. Up and down arrows are cause zoom in and zoom out. In general, Vizio sets are too complex to be operated. Recommend use with older TV's or return to purchaser.

Hey people; if you are posting a code you think will work YOU MUST IDENTIFY what the device is (TV, DVD, VCR, etc) and the BRAND name of the code you are posting. These posts run a mile long and most have no IDENTIFICATION of what device they are for so they are USELESS ! !!

Anybody know anything about a flat screen tv called digital lifestyle? It has a dvd player but it got no remote control and i cannot eject the dvd.It does not even have a manual button for ejecting the dvd. A friend of mine had it but his dog chewed the remote. I have the same problem it will turn my dvd player on and off but it won't work with play or anything like that. I've tried a hundred times to get it to work with my Dish network and it won't even program into it. The only thing it actually works on is the vcr.

I also have an insignia what you will have to do is
turn on your TV manually then hold down the Code search button on the remote till the red light comes on then press the TV button point the remote at the TV then press the power button the red light should blink off then back on about every two seconds keep the remote pointed at the TV as it cycles through the codes when it comes to the right one the TV will turn off press the enter button to save the code Note this may take some time but it is the only way for insignia TV's because the manual doesn't list codes for them this should work with most TV that the manual doesn't list codes for

I got a sanyo and use 031. Only thing is I got to spend 20-mins. or so playing around with the frigging thing,cuz I cant find the book with the instructions of how to even program it. Anyhow 031
is a code that I had always used. only thing is that it dont go in the same way every time,but 031 works with what I got in the bedroom .I got a cable box in the living room (parlor whatever you call it)and its got the remote that came with that.Iwasnt throwing out a good workin tv just cuz it was old believe they was made much better then .So now I got it ronnin through the vcr cuz we got dvd in the l-room. Iaint gonna start tossin stuff out cuz its obsolete and they got something new. So it runs cable through the vcr and that code I said works All it is that frosts me bout it is that everytime it goes out then I got to mess with that. Does any one got a book page or anything that tells me step by step the process please and as I said only code I seen on that web page only says 051 at least thats what I recall lookin at. try 031. May help.

THESE DIRECTIONS HELPED ME !!!!!!! FINALLY SOME HELP ~
You can search the codes for ANY device by:
1. Turn on the device (i.e. TV, VCR, DVD, etc.)
2. Hold the "Codes" button 'til you see the red light on the remote.
3. Press the device button ( TV, VCR, etc.) once.
4. Press the power button (top right) once every few seconds (wait for a red blink each time you press to try to turn off -it is getting next code possible) to see if the device turns off.
5. The codes will advance automatically, so press power and wait a second (to see if device turns off, press power button again)
6. Continue pressing and pausing (maybe once per second) You want to find the right code without missing it!
7. Once the device turns off, then press the enter button quickly to save.
8. Repeat if necessary and then with each device you want.
9. Good luck. (remember, 300 or 500 seconds is better then waiting for the company that no longer makes manuals or has codes to download.

Using code 051 for the motorola cable box worked. I searched on google for a long time before finding it. I could get the tv programmed, but not the cable box. I also read that if the codes don't work, press and hold the code search button until the light turns solid red. Click cable, tv, vcr or dvd and then start slowly pressing the on/off button. Keep doing this until the tv turns off (can take up to 300 tries). Should work, but didn't for me. Tv turned off and wouldn't come back on. The code 051 worked a charm, though, and the remote is awesome!

If the above doesn't work, try this:
* Press and hold CODE SEARCH
* While holding, press once the POWER BUTTON
* Depress both (The led will be steady light)
* Press either TV/VCR/DVD/SAT button once.

For all who have problems with Insignia TV's. I have found that SANSUI owns Insignia, try those codes first. If they don't work, disregard the instructions on how to code search, and do this. 1. press code search until light is steady.
2. press device ex. -tv-
3. press power button once -that's it just once- it will automatically search every 2 seconds for a code. As soon as the tv shuts off -
4. press enter
The first time you try, parts of the remote may not work, such as channel changing etc...
repeat the process, mine worked on the second attempt.

To adjust the volume, you have to ask the remote to "talk" to the TV, not the cable set top box. So, hit TV, and then the volume keys. When you want to change the channel, hit Cable, and then your channel keys.
051 allows my Innovage Jumbo to talk to our Magnavox HD dual tuner DVR set top box (model number DCH6416). And bless the fellow here that figured it out, and was kind enough to tell the rest of us! Hooray!

I have r15 Direct TV box and sharper image jumbo remote. After trying for an hour I finally got ahold of the sharper image company. They told me the codes were 200-217 but they won't work and to call direct tv. Direct TV says that they have no codes at all for the remote. The codes in the manuel which you can find as mscustomerservice.com are bogus. IT will not work with it! If anyone finds different please post. Sharper Image has awful customer service! At the end of the conversation with them I was told GOOD LUCK, probably knowing it would not work!

For anyone having trouble with Magnavox VCR/DVD units--I found that on the back of the Magnavox VCR-DVD MWD2205 it said that the unit was made by Funai. I looked in the Innovage book and found that the codes for Funai DVD are 231 and 233. 233 worked on mine. Good luck.

Hi, I have this Innovage Remote, and a Prima TV (future shop/best buy are the only ones who sell them). I can't get a code. I have done all they manual attempts that they instruct you to do and the only thing the TV did was mute itself and turn caption on. It never turned off or changed the channel as instructed it would. I have the Innovage Jumbo Universal remote. Just got it for a Christmas gift. I have a dvd/vcr recorder combo, the brand is Liteon LVC-9006 , does anyone know what I would use for the code for this remote? and since its not a stand alone dvd or vcr, am I able to use just the VCR button on the remote to do the coding for the remote, or which button should it be programmed to? My comment is that i had problems with the Innovage Products Jumbo Remore control. I bought this remote for my parents for x-mas and there new samsung dvd home theater system HT-X50/Lg dvd recorder, did not work on the both of them. Also the Starchoice Dish Recieve did work on the remote control, but then when you pressed guide for the dish it would come up as menu. The Lg dvd recorder LRA-850 aslo worked. THESE DIRECTIONS HELPED ME !!!!!!! FINALLY SOME HELP ~
You can search the codes for ANY device by:
1. Turn on the device (i.e. TV, VCR, DVD, etc.)
2. Hold the "Codes" button 'til you see the red light on the remote.
3. Press the device button ( TV, VCR, etc.) once.
4. Press the power button (top right) once every few seconds (wait for a red blink each time you press to try to turn off -it is getting next code possible) to see if the device turns off.
5. The codes will advance automatically, so press power and wait a second (to see if device turns off, press power button again)
6. Continue pressing and pausing (maybe once per second) You want to find the right code without missing it!
7. Once the device turns off, then press the enter button quickly to save.
8. Repeat if necessary and then with each device you want.
9. Good luck. (remember, 300 or 500 seconds is better then waiting for the company that no longer makes manuals or has codes to download.

I found the Code Search feature works much better if you don't press the Power button repeatedly. Press and hold Code Search until the LED lights steadily. Then press the device button (Cable/TV/VCR/etc.) Then press the Power button ONCE. The remote sends a different code every two or three seconds, automatically. Just wait patiently for the device to turn off. When it does turn off, press Enter quickly, before the remote moves on to the next code.
Incidentally, 051 works for me for the Comcast Motorola digital cable box.

you have to program it under a different button, first tv would be under tv, the second (or others) would be under sat, dvd, cable, etc. but it would be a trade off, if you had these other devices, cause then you couldn't program it for the dvd, sat, etc

I bought this remote for my dad. I did not know at the time that this remote will not work with DirectTV ST units. As I read the other post, I realize that this remote will not work with any modern device other then possibly TV. You don't need the codes but this might take time.
Turn device off point to the device with the remote.
Press and hold CODE SEARCH the red lid light will light up and stay
then press the device you want to search for EXAMPLE cable, tv, vcr etc. make sure your pointing the remote at the device or this will not work. Led light will blink once
The hard part you must push the power button until you see the device turn on. You can press up to 300 times until it locates the code. the led will blink everytime you press the power button.
(NOTE: dont press so fast because i myself press so fast that I miss it when the device turned on and had to start all over.)
once the device turns on press ENTER and hold it until the lid light has a series of blinks
test it by pushing the channel buttons up or down.
I suggest that you get right on top of the device your programing because like many people i have all my media devices stacked, and found that cause interference. So move in close to be sure that your remote is contacting with the right device.

For Comcast Motorola Cable Boxes just follow instructions from a psot way down the list.
There's a way wherein you can program your device without putting in the code.
1)Make sure to turn on the power of the device that you want to set
2)Aim the remote control at the device and press and hold down the CODE SEARCH button for at least 3 seconds until the red LED lights up solid red.
3) Press the device button for the item you wish to program (e.g.TV, DVD, VCR, etc) and the LED light will blink once and then remain solid red.
4)Press ON/OFF button on remote slowly and repeatedly about every two seconds until the device you are trying to program turns off (NOTE: LED will blink once each time you press ON/OFF button)
5)Once the device turns off, press ENTER button to store the code and the LED light will turn off. Be careful you dont hit the button again once it already goes off because then you have to start over.

I cant figure out the code for a Magnavox TV/VCR/DVD combo. I searched until the TV turned off, But I cant access menu, use vcr or dvd from remote. Any help would be awesome. Post or email at scvaladez12@hotmail.com

Help! I have a Samsung DVD Recorder and VCR Combination and the codes that came with the Innovage Jumbo universal Remote don't work. This is my granddaughter's unit and she has cerebral palsy so I must implement this remote. Thanks in advance for your help.

Innovage works fine with my older! Dish receiver,
a 4000 model, I think.
It will not do the Haier 13 " TV...no matter what I do.
The owners manual is easy to find from Innovage as a .pdf file.

I did precisely what the directions enjoined, got the TV to turn off. I immediately pressed "enter". The remote did not work. I tried this every which way but loose for 1-1/2 year-old Sharp flat screen TV in great shape -- did not work. Any thoughts what to try or do next?

BUTTON DESCRIPTIONS
CODE SEARCH: Used to program the remote or to search
through codes.
SIGNAL INDICATOR LIGHT (LED): The Indicator Light flashes
to show that the remote is working properly.
ON/OFF BUTTON: Operates the same as your original remote
Note: Some RCA, GE and ProScan models require you to press
the device button to turn the device on and the ON/OFF button to
turn the device off.
SLEEP: Allows you to set a time for you to turn off your device
automatically.
GUIDE: Brings up the on-screen TV program guide if your device
has that feature.
MENU: Brings up the Main Menu. If you are already in the
menu system, press SELECT to select a highlighted choice. Use
the arrow buttons to move through the Menu Selections.
GO BACK: Allows you to go to the previous channel you
selected. Operates the same as Last Channel, Previous Channel,
or Recall button on your original remote.
MUTE: Mutes volume on the TV.
CABLE, TV, VCR, DVD, SAT: Used to select the device you want to control.
0-9: The number buttons operate the same as on your original remote, and are used for
entering device codes.
ENTER: Used to complete channel selection for some brands of TV. It is also used to complete
the code entry process.
TV/VCR: Operates the TV/VCR function of your VCR.
NAVIGATION BUTTONS & OK: Used to move through on screen menu and guides. With
some DBS models the INFO button should be used to select the highlighted item. Use the
navigation buttons up, down, left, or right to make selection.
VOL & CH: The VOL (Volume) and CH (Channel) buttons increase or decrease the volume or
channel numbers.
REVERSE, PLAY, FORWARD, REC, STOP, PAUSE: These buttons are for DVD/VCR/DVR
use, and operate the same as on your original VCR or remote. You must press the REC button
twice to begin recording.
INPUT: Selects the video inputs of your TV if equipped with this feature.
INFO: Shows the date and the time if your TV or VCR has that feature. Functions the same as
a Display button.
CLEAR: Removes the on screen display to return to normal viewing.
CODE INPUT SETTING:
You will need the list of codes to manually select and input the correct codes to your
specific device.
1. Turn on the device that you want to set.
2. Look for the brand name under the specific device listing provided.
(Note: You will notice that some brands will have more than one 3-digit code. During the
code input process, you may have to try more than one 3-digit code that will match your
device brand and model.)
3. Aim the remote control at the device and press down and hold CODE SEARCH button for
at least 3 seconds until the red LED lights up solid red.
4. Press the device button for the item you wish to program, e.g. TV, DVD, VCR, etc. and the
LED light will blink once and then remain solid red.
5. Using the number keys, enter the 1 st set of 3-digit codes from the list. You will notice
that each number that you press, the LED will blink once. After you have entered the
3rd digit, the red LED will turn off indicating that the code was recognized for the device.
(NOTE: If the code entered was not compatible, the red LED will flash several times.
You will then need to repeat Step 3. You have 30 seconds to enter a code.)
6. After the red LED light has turned off. Press the ON/OFF key. If the device you are trying
to program powers off, then you have found the correct code. If the device does not
power off, then you will need to repeat the process again from Step 3, using another
3-digit code.
7. Make a note of the 3-digit code for future use.
CODE SEARCH SETTING:
This is an alternative method to programming your device without using the code list. The
remote control will scroll through the list of codes to identify the correct code for your
device.
1. Turn on the device that you want to set.
2. Aim the remote control at the device and press and hold down the CODE SEARCH button
for at least 3 seconds until the red LED lights up solid red.
3. Press the device button for the item you wish to program, e.g. TV, DVD, VCR, etc. and the
LED light will blink once and then remain solid red.
4. Press ON/OFF button on remote slowly and repeatedly until the device you are trying to
program shuts off. (Note LED will blink once each time you press ON/OFF button)
5. Once this occurs, press ENTER button to store the code and the LED light will turn off.
SLEEP SETTING:
This feature will automatically turn off your TV after the set specified time.
1. Press and hold SLEEP button for 3 seconds until the LED light turns to solid on.
2. Enter using the number keys a 2-digit time in minutes in range of 01 - 99. Once you
have entered the 2 digit time, the LED will turn off and the timer will begin.
3. Make sure the remote control is pointed in the direction of the device.
4. To cancel this function:
a) either press ON/OFF button once or
b) press and hold SLEEP button for at least 3 seconds until LED flashes once.
CODE RETRIEVAL:
This feature can help you to find out what the 3 digit code that is currently stored in your
"Innovage Jumbo Universal Remote" for a specific device without having to reference the
code list manual.
1. Press and hold down the CODE SEARCH button •for at least 3 seconds until the red LED
lights up solid red.
2. Press the device button , e.g. TV, DVD, VCR, etc. and the LED light will blink once and
then remain solid red.
3. Press each of the number buttons 0-9 until the LED blinks once. This will signify the
1st number in the 3-digit code for the device that is programmed in your remote control.
4. Repeat same process to find the 2nd and 3rd digit for the 3-digit code.
5. Once you have found the 3rd digit the LED will turn off.

I figured out how to program the JUMBO UNIVERSAL REMOTE the one with no brand. I also lost the manual and have spent countless hours figuring it out. You don't need the codes but this might take time.
Turn device off point to the device with the remote.
Press and hold CODE SEARCH the red lid light will light up and stay
then press the device you want to search for EXAMPLE cable, tv, vcr etc. make sure your pointing the remote at the device or this will not work. Led light will blink once
The hard part you must push the power button until you see the device turn on. You can press up to 300 times until it locates the code. the led will blink everytime you press the power button.
(NOTE: dont press so fast because i myself press so fast that I miss it when the device turned on and had to start all over.)
once the device turns on press ENTER and hold it until the lid light has a series of blinks
test it by pushing the channel buttons up or down.
I suggest that you get right on top of the device your programing because like many people i have all my media devices stacked, and found that cause interference. So move in close to be sure that your remote is contacting with the right device.

THESE DIRECTIONS HELPED ME !!!!!!! FINALLY SOME HELP ~
You can search the codes for ANY device by:
1. Turn on the device (i.e. TV, VCR, DVD, etc.)
2. Hold the "Codes" button 'til you see the red light on the remote.
3. Press the device button ( TV, VCR, etc.) once.
4. Press the power button (top right) once every few seconds (wait for a red blink each time you press to try to turn off -it is getting next code possible) to see if the device turns off.
5. The codes will advance automatically, so press power and wait a second (to see if device turns off, press power button again)
6. Continue pressing and pausing (maybe once per second) You want to find the right code without missing it!
7. Once the device turns off, then press the enter button quickly to save.
8. Repeat if necessary and then with each device you want.
9. Good luck. (remember, 300 or 500 seconds is better then waiting for the company that no longer makes manuals or has codes to download.
And / Or ....there's a way where you can program your device without putting in the code.
1)Make sure to turn on the power of the device that you want to set
2)Aim the remote control at the device and press and hold down the CODE SEARCH button for at least 3 seconds until the red LED lights up solid red.
3) Press the device button for the item you wish to program (e.g.TV, DVD, VCR, etc) and the LED light will blink once and then remain solid red.
4)Press ON/OFF button on remote slowly and repeatedly until the device you are trying to program turns off (NOTE: LED will blink once each time you press ON/OFF button)
5)Once the device turns off, press ENTER button to store the code and the LED light will turn off.

Everybody keeps asking the same question about the manual. If you read all the posts there are many people that say they will give you the codes and for example, try reading post #s 125, 211, & 214.
As far as mine goes, once again, another person saying it doesn't work. So, has anyone by chance had ANY LUCK with getting it to work with an RCA TV/DVD??? I've tried over and over of course doing manually and automatically and won't work. They're real great, having no way to get ahold of them....

bought this remote as a gag gift for hubby's 50th, and also because we keep losing the remote. Got it to run tv, satelite, and vcr, haven't found a code for magnavox DVD player, if someone know of one, please advise. The only problem i have is switching from TV mode channels to Satelite (direct tv) channels, i don't see a tv/inputs button to flick to the different devices, ex vcr,dvd, direct tv. Well, I too have the Jumbo Remote. it very quickly was programmed to do the VCR, DVD and Television in my bedroom but alas, no code worked for the Direc R-15 POS Sat Receiver (POS-Piece of.... Something, I have a very low opinion of the R-15, I've got an agreement on an R-10 that I'll pick up later, R-10 is TiVo based, R-15 is mental hospital based I think, I'm spoiled in the house I use REPLAY TV)
Could use a R-15 or Coolsat 5000 code if anyone has one. (Have not attempted the CS-5K yet as it's in the stick house not the wheeled one.. And this not a good time to turn it off.
I think I'm going to like this remote Worked well, hard to loose (unlike the others) and controls everything currently in the room (The R-15 is in the other room of the 4-room motor home) Alas given the lmites of the R-15, I really don't NEED a 2nd remote with it.

Bought it for $10 and it is a very limited universal remote. Even if you had the manual only a few of the codes actual work. Here is how to find codes.
Press code search than the device like VCR than slowly keep pressing the ON/OFF until this device is turned off than press Enter per the manual and you might find a code that works. I didn't

I see a bunch of questions and requests from purchers of the JUMBO UNIVERSAL REMOTE but I don't see any answers from the manufacturer. I would hate to think their product is a rip-off. I just wanted to post a site that you can go to for a downloaded file for the Innovage Jumbo Universal Remote. Its www.remotecentral.com
Just do a search for the name and it will take you to a scanned and downloaded file. It was a little light to read, but when you download it, you can zoom in to read it better. I was able to program my jumbo remote in less than 10 minutes after looking up the codes for my brand of tv and satellite and dvd/vcr combo. If you have a dvd/vcr combo you will program in the same code number for both of them. Hope this helps.

If you're trying to program a particular device and the brand is not listed on the code list, do this... point the remote toward the device you're trying to program, press the code search button down until the red led lights up solid, then press the device button on the remote. cable, tv,vcr, etc. wait 2 seconds and press the on/off button. if the device you're prgramming did not turn off, then watch until the red led light blinks once. (this means it has just tried a new code) after it blinks, press the on/off button again. the red led light will blink about every 2 seconds. each time after it blinks, press the on/off button. when your device you're trying to program cuts off, that means you were successful! now press the enter key to store your code in your remote. don't give up. i had to press the on/off button about 50 times before i could program my cable. my tv programmed right away. i LOVE this remote!!

I have recently purchased an INNOVAGE Jumbo Remote Control fo £19.99, for my Matsui 28" DW01 T/V.The instruction book received with it only gives instruction on how to insert a code number relating to the set. From the dozens of numbers quoted I cannot relate one to my set. this thing is a total piece of garbage. It will change channels on the vcr only if you use the numbers. None of the other buttons work at all for it other than power. Its a Zenith VCR. I have tried using it on two different Toshiba TV's. The remote doesnt do anything for one of them, wont even power it on off. The other can change channels / volume but thats it. I need it to switch inputs from cable/video etc, it wont work for that. It doesnt work with my zenith dvd at all. I highly advice not wasting your time with it. It cost me $8 at ocean state job lot and I am going to throw it in the trash.

I have a JRG-12 Jumbo Universal Remote. Got the TV right on the first try. Tried to program a Sony SLV-D350P next. NO listed codes worked. Tried search process. After 314 tries, quit. Next was the DirecTv Model D11 satellite receiver. Same procedures, same results. The JRG-12 will control the Sony TV, but not the other two boxes.

Hey all you have to do to find a code is press code/search then the divice you are programming and it will find it for you the device will power off when it is found then press enter to save the code. you dont have to hold anything the whole time. hope this helps

This product does not work with VCR/DVD combos. Because to program the VCR part, you have to press VCR, or vice versa. Theirfore the code never gets passed to both functions of the remote. Their is no key for combo machines. And because their is only one code, only one of the parts of the machine will work.

I purchased a Jumbo Universal Remote and programmed to my TV, but could not program to my Samsung DVD-VCR. Does anyone have any input and also do you have the technical support phone number for this company?

I LOVE MY INNOVAGE JUMBO UNIVERSAL REMOTE
CONTROL.I HAD NO PROBLEM PROGRAMING MY TV AND MY DVD PLAYER BUT CAN NOT GET THE CODES TO WORK FOR MY DISH SATELLITE. I TRIED ALL THE CODES IN THE BOOK FOR DISH AND THEY DIDN'T WORK. I TRIED THE SEARCH BUTTON ON IT'S OWN FOR OVER AN HOUR BUT IT NEVER FOUND THE CODE. I CALLED DISH AND ASKED THEM FOR HELP AND THEY COULD NOT HELP ME, SO I ASKED THEM WHO MADE THE DISH RECEIVER FOR THEM.WHAT WAS THE COMPANYS NAME AND ALL THE GUY WOULD TELL ME IS DISH MADE THEIR OWN.. MY MOTHER HAS ONE JUST LIKE ME AND WE WERE ABLE TO PROGRAM HER DIRECT SATELLITE AFTER THE TECH TOLD US
