IR Thermometer shoots lasers
Posted on Apr 27, 07 12:06 AM PDT

Anyone who does not feel too good ought to have his or her temperature taken since they could be running a fever, an early symptom of many a disease. The Infrared Thermometer with Laser Sight is a non-invasive method of capturing somebody's temperature from a distance, utilizing a point-and-shoot method. $50 for such a fancy gadget? No thanks. I've better ways to spend my money, and picking up a lazy man's thermometer is not at the top of my list. Doctors would tell you that the temperature reading on such devices aren't exactly the most accurate in the world.

Look, you can't take your own body temp with this. As you might know, your skin temp is not a very accurate way of telling whether you are running a fever. These are better used for industrial applications where you can shoot the temp of a wire junction box, or a hot wall and know where your process is becoming dangerous (hot wires mean too much current, which translates to melted insulation and shorted out electric components, or tripped breakers. Lazy man's thermometer indeed! I have one and I use it to check the temp of my drying process, which runs as hot as 270F. Go ahead. Put your hand on that.
