iRiver Clix now shipping

The refreshed iRiver Clix is now ready to be shipped, offering a battery life that can play up to 24 hours of music and 5 hours of video, rivaling the iPod nano in terms of features and functionality. Features include a 2.2" AMOLED display and support for MPEG, MP3, WMA, OGG, WMV, and MPEG4 formats. The new iRiver Clix will come in three capacities - 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB models which retail for $149, $199, and $249 respectively. What are your thoughts on this new player? With the same price point and capacities as existing nanos, will you pick it over the nano due to the added video functionality?

Can someone please put a comment about what videos you can put on the clix gen 2 4 gb? PLEASE? i have been trying to figure that out forever!I have tried like every kind! MP3 videos, MP4 and more! so please help me? And if u answer me, tell me where you can get the vidoes! PLEASE HELP ME!

Iriver clix 8gb is available on www.warehouse123.com, as it's not in store yet I'll go with the new Creative ZEN, I river just lost a customer, it just takes too long to deliver to stores.

You state the Clix "rivals" Ipod Nano? Does Nano have a voice recorder? FM radio? Great screen?
Clix slams Nano, perhaps Nano should be No-No.

OMG!! no kiddin' but they said it is coming out in South Korea this week. N we they said later. Korea first...OMG!! I seriously got to order it online from KOREA!! ahh....(gotta make a Korean friend). I can't wait to get it....just can't wait!

I don't understand why iriver wants so much for the 8GB version. I mean, $250 for only 8GB? I could buy a zen or some other player w/ 30GB for the same price.

I also got yet another answer from iriver. This time they told me the 8gb version of the clix 2 is due in July. It would be nice if they'd get their story straight. What's the hold up?

I have the 4 gb gen 1, but will add a 8gb gen 2 when it comes out. I like the better screen and mini usb interface.

I believe, like other versions, it charges through the usb. Or, you have to buy an additional charger

I think I'll wait untill June then. If no 8gb then I guess I'll go with a different brand. I want a flash player but 4gb is not enough. Wish there was some way to be certain of this 8gb thing.

Where did you get the information that the clix generation two is to be released in a 8gb version? I searched the iriver page for "clix 8gb" and found nothing. kr144a said that the representative he talked to said that iriver had no plans to release the clix in 8gigs. Please tell us where you got the info!!!

I called iriver and asked about the 8gb version. They said there were no plans to produce the clix gen 2 in a 8gb version or anything greater than the 4gb. Curious where the above info was obtained from.
