OLPC laptop to cost more

Published on 04/30/2007

Looks like the $100 laptop has just experienced a 75% increase in price, but that negative has been offset by some good news (to some anyway, as others might argue it is even more bad news) - the hardware is now capable of running Microsoft Windows. More updates will be revealed later this week for those who clamor for more news. So far, Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Pakistan, Thailand, Nigeria and Libya have shown interest in being part of the first wave of OLPC XO computers. I can't wait to see what the benchmark results will be like, and what kind of Windows it will run. You can strike Vista off the list for a start though.
