Rumors of Samsung hybrid HD player

Word on the street is Samsung is currently working on its BD-UP5000 "Duo HD Player" that will see a commercial release when July rolls around. From its name alone, you know it will be able to handle discs from both HD DVD and Blu-ray camps, featuring HDMI 1.3 output and support for all new audio formats. The BD-UP5000 is very similar in design to the BD-P1200 Blu-ray player that is currently available. Other features include DCDi processing for DVD upscaling and HDMI output at 1080/24p. Pricing is rumored to be within the $799 to $999 range.
