yes there is some sort of USB thinger on the phone, but it is only there for the manufacturer's use...you cannot put themes, music, etc. because the phone was not made for those things to be downloaded.
get a newer version of the sidekick if you want those applications...they come w/ free USB cords =]

all the cool kids at my school have a sidekick id and i just got one lsat week i just wanted to be like them ad then the next week all the kids got rid of the skid and got lx. my parents won't buy lx so i'm stuck with id and now i'm just a wannabe. :(

The Sidekick ID USB port is on the right side where the charger hole is look at the bottom of that it looks the same as the piece where the charge hole is. Now get a knive and try to pop it out and tada theres the USB port =D

actually dares a usb conector right beside where u put the chager u only need 2 take a little cover i jost found that out cuz i droped mines and the cover came out sow all side kick id hass a usb conention the only problem is you need 2 find the drive it only works by singing up for danger.com

another way to scroll fast with the iD is to hold the Menu button and just use the scroll-ball. Works like the Call and End keys but brings the selector with it.

well geuss what ur in big luck first u need to check out www.danger.com the sign up its takes mabey 20 sec then activate ur account for danger.com in ur email go back to the site sign in scroll down to the end of the page left side the sec link download it to ur computer when down open the file click on win32/tools/drivers now install the driver when down open the folder again click
win32/tools/and click on the pic that looks like the side kick thats the program u will use for the sidekick id at this point there is a prob u need more memory or its not gonna let u do anything form this point ur on ur on mabey take the phone apart and see if there is a memory chip inside if so ur in luck just upgrade the chip then u can use the program as far as videos u can get them u need to find the program for the phone on the web and again thats why i say u need more memory and yes u can get blue tooth find that program too for talking the phone apart go buy a eye glass kit at cvs for like 1.50 and dont be scared to talk the phone apart its not going to fall apart i took my sidekick id apart but i could not ge one screw off so i left it alone for now the only reason i got the side kick id is because u can fully hack it so thats it h4pp\/ h4ck1n6

the sk id is the best phone ive ever had ....sure it doesnt have a cam,or a mp3 or blue tooth but 4 99 bucks its a steal 4 me............the keyboard is great.........use ur sidekick to the fullest.....bring it where ever u go.....although it is ur sidekick......use it like batman use robin.....peace out

hello pplz itz me again. tha only thing I hav 2 say now iz how 2 find and play tha snowbord game.
1. press tha menu button (3 line thingy) then go 2 settings
2. go all tha way down 2 about sidekick(R)Id and click on it
3. press home+menu button+shift+8
4. snowbord game. play using any letter or number including spacebar 2 control ur man. hold tha button (letter,number) 2 go up.
let go of tha button 2 go down.
5. enjoy!

YOU CANNOT PUT mp3's or THEMES on the Sidekic iD, unforunately. There isn't a USB port to do so.I have the Sidekick LX & gt themes from sklxthemes.com Teyso have themes for the sk2 & 3.

Sidekick II and III arent the only ones that can get music and themes. The sidekick iD can also get them, but its extremly difficult. Im trying to find out how from a friend who did it. And also, the USB port is located right next to the back button(the one with the slanted arrow) and below the charger. Theres a little door there that looks like it can be popped off. But to actually get it off youll have to get a knife and kinda stick it into the side of the door and wedge it out. If you need more help contact me @ myspace.com/un_dre_ah

The USB is there for nothing. You can't upload themes and someone else already said that so how come you people don't just read that and stop asking the same questions over and over again. No themes the SideKick ID cannot get themes only the Sidekick II and III. That sucks but its the truth.

the sidekick id is just as good as sidekick 3. 1 it had better battery life than the 3, it gets better service than the 3, the camera and mp3 player on the 3 sucks anyway and who needs themes as long as you can go on the internet or aim, text, and make phone calls. i find it a more improved version of the 3 considering the fact it is more durable and the battery doesnt die after 8 hours

Okay. I've been thinking about getting a SKID. But all these people have been saying there pieces of ****.
Like no camera, mp3 playback, themes, blah blah blah. But I have a camera, and an ipod. And I don't really care about the themes. I just want a sidekick. And since the ID is cheaper. That's the only one my dad will go for. So is it a waste of time to get the SKID?

i love my sidekick id it is way cheap compared to the sidekick 3 who give a **** if it has a bum ass caram and a mp3 all i want is to have my kick ass keyboard so i can text all day to guys and mu friends and and bye hte way get the unlimited texting so u dont have to worry about going over so 14 dollars is nothing to when i had to pay 500 dollars because i went over

Well my friend Vanessa had bought the sidekick id. & I had bought one aswell but I upgraded to a 3. Well, we were downloading themes into my phone when Vane realized the id DOES have a USB slot thingy... it's hiden though. It's on the side where the charger goes in. That little piece of plastic? Under there you'll find the USB slot.
However... we tried to put my USB in her phone & the computer doesn't pick it up. So pointless? Yes. But then why, in fact, is it there in the first place??

I just bought my sidekick id for $78, which is really good. It is better than the sidekick 3, because its keyboard is clearer, more personalizable, and cheaper. No there are NO themes on the SKID. Rumor has it that soon T-Mobile will have it downloadable on the Skid but I doubt that since the skid can't hold memory like the sk3 can. And people need to STOP bashing the skid. It is a great phone even without the bluetooth, camera, mp3 player. I own a ipod and awesome underwater 7.1 MP digi cam and I am in no need of a sk3 when I have that. But I guess if you don't have a digi cam or ipod than I can understand if you liked the sk3 more. But oh well.

i had the sk 3. i sold my sk 3 because i bought the mda. then i got the sk id. so i realli dont need the camera and mp3 because i have all of that plus more, thankz to the mda. but my sk id to me is alot better because if u have the sk3, every1 sk3 looks the same. with the sk id u can change the faceplate. also, juss lyke the sk3, u can change and download new themes, which i dont. the biggest pro is that the battery power for the sk id is way longer than that of the sk3 !! i have my sk id up and ready at 10 in the morning and it lasts til about 4 the next morning. with the sk3, i woud have to cut the phone off from tyme 2 tyme so it can last wen i realli needed it !!

yea it is true about the little plastic cover. to remove it, u would have to use a pen or stick ur nail between the crack. then you juss pull off the plastic cover with ur nail !

It is kind of insulting, other reviews say it is for the young generation or beginners.
This is a good phone if you work at a goverment facility and cannot bring a cell phone with a camera into the building.
I have been looking for a phone without a camera, but it is hard to find.

Sorry to disappoint you guys but the hidden USB slot is not usable by consumers. That's a developer only port which you're not going to find the cable for. Sure, it's a USB port. You just can't use it. So no uploading themes or pictures or a anything else.

Although the Sidekick 3 has a camera, mp3 player, and extra memory card, the Sidekick iD is more affordable and I think I will get the iD. I heard the camera is horrible on the SK3 anyways. Plus, you can't put iTunes music on the SK3. Personally I think that the Sidekick iD is the better buy.

Yes there is a usb but it wont work just yet to find it take out the bottom bumper and there is a small peice of plastic under the wrist strap holes to get the peice of plastic you would have to take a relativley sharp flat object and pry it off if your careful enough it will come off with out a knick to your phone but i dont know how to put stuff on your sidekick through the usb

i don't understand the bad reviews for this phone. the camera SUCKED on the sk3, the "bluetooth" [if u can call it that based on the fact that it lacks features] wasn't anything to brag about, and who needs an mp3 on a phone when most ppl have a separate mp3 player anyway? i personally like the sk id. u can customize it, the key pad is better, the battery life is better, and its cheaper.... sounds like a deal to me.

I have the sk Id as well as two other phones and i LOVE it! I don't even mind it not having a camera because i can email and have people send me pictures to my sk that i can store in my poto album. Also, it does have a usb port, its located under the hole for the charger, hidden behind a little peice of plastic. Although its diffiuclt to remive the plastic, once you get it off its worth-while because you can load themes and other stuff onto your sk iD!!

i love the sidekick 3 and the sidekick id might be ok but the camera bluetooth and mp3 missing is sort of a big deal you know. i broke a sidekick 2 and still regret it so for sidekick fans such as my seld i would totally go with the normal sidekick 3 but the sidekick id isnt to bad seeing as you can change the skins on it peace out people and use your sidekick to the fullest P.S. is the sidekick id still made the people who make the normal sidekick 3

honestly.I dont understand y ppl r bashin this item...It's not likk da camera on da sk3 is any good....And da mp3 sux so bad...I got two phones da sk3 and a sanyo 8400.And my 8400 is better than da sk3......But in my opinion dis item is a buy..U can afford wat u do on a day to day basis wit a sk.....And dats only text,aim yahoo,etc......Nobody takes picture wit dat crappy camera.....So ppl if u wanted a sk3 but u couldn't afford it buy the skid......Da only thing i wanna kno wit da skid is can i put themes on it...lol......Peace
