You might be right... The word on the street is that it's a scroll wheel, but this video is not really evidence.

Are you sure it's a 'scroll wheel'? I think the guy is just running his thumb on it which makes it look like a wheel..but as you can see nothing is happening on the screen. I think it's just a 4 way(maybe more ways) joypad.
